Born 1961 in Passaic New Jersey, learning the love of music from his late father Pat Deleacaes. Relocated to Florida in '69/'70. Learned guitar from his father at the age of 13 and by the age of 19, tried out for his first Country Band and was hired. Played various places throughout Florida in a live band until Karaoke moved in and put an end to the "band scene". Started a solo career at the age of 40 playing variety music in up scale Country Clubs and private parties. When asked why he enjoys writing and performing music, Ricky states, "I've got something to say and music is the best way to get a message out."
Yes I play live as a soloist in high end Country Clubs and Restaurants throughout Lee and Collier County. I love what I do and it is always special when you can sing a song and evoke emotion from someone. I remember one time I was doing a song titled "Truly" by Lionel Richie. When I came off of the last vocal, I opened my eye and there was a woman sitting just off the dance floor. I looked at her and she had a single tear coming down her cheek and she gave me such a nice smile. It touched me.
I have a very wide variety of influences. Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Lang, Joe Cocker, Neil Diamond just to name a few.
Fender Strat, Peavey mixer, QSC power, B52 speakers, Yamaha keyboard with Dell Laptop assistance.
I'm not trying to be famous. I love music PERIOD.
