Kevin McGowan:
Born in Stirling Scotland
Began singing & performing at the age of 6yrs, played guitar since 15yrs old, Key's since 25yrs. Co Founder, Lead Guitarist & Singer of Coloured Dreams since 19yrs, The Band predominently played local gig's in & around Stirling Scotland performing cover's of Beatles & Pink Floyd, whilst busking in Stirling Scotland, Kevin was approached by a musician that offered Kevin & Tam the other co founder of Coloured Dreams a Eurpoeon Tour opportunity, busking around Europe, the orginal band broke up then the new Coloured Dreams began touring in europe starting in Annecy France , within 3 months the Band was a great hit locally playing covers of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Doors & Hendrix: It was at this point that Kevin bagan writing his own songs, the band Coloured Dreams Toured France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Holland & Switzerland, in 1998 the band broke up: 1998-2003 Kevin moved into full time song writing, in 2004 Coulored Dreams was reformed by Kevin: Performing original Music as well as Covers, from 2006-2007, Coloured Dreams performed in a series of venues such as The Cavern in Liverpool, They went on to be voted best band for the Pringles Unsung Internet Competition & became finalists in Pringles Unsung Live Finals, winning Studio time which was used to record 2 of Kevin's songs, Coloured Dreams also went on to become semi finalists in the Daily Record Competion in Scotland & Finalists in Big in Falkirk Battle of the Bands. In December 2007 Coloured Dreams disbanded for the Last time & Kevin McGowan Began his career as a solo artist. he recently played the international pop overthrow festival in the cavern club liverpool and went down a storm, after his performance he was invited to play the ipo in los angelas next year, he also has one of his tracks on the i.p.o 2008 festivals cd, when playing live he has different musicians backing him but also plays solo acousticaly, when recording he plays all instruments himself, he is currently writing and working on new material to record.
yes i do, probably the best feeling was my first solo gig, it was in the cavern in liverpool at the international pop overthrow 2008, it was a baptism of bliss!
i sound like the band in my head, my influences are growing up in a council estate in scotland nicknamed the bronx!, dr bob & bill w, the beatles, pink floyd, the doors, rod jane and freddy and loads more!
