Diane Anshell plays flute. Howard Anshell plays the Spelecaster, a Fender Telecaster for which he has created unique effects voices. William Wesley plays an assortment of Array Instruments he has invented himself, including the Array Mbira, an multiple extension of a Kalimba or thumb-drum, the Array Controller, a synthesizer controller with little bumps instead of keys, and the Ohm Bass, a stringed instrument bowed with a long metal tube.
Basically this is a one time project, created to celebrate the 300 episode of our cable TV show "YOURSELF presents: an original music showcase". However, I once thought Somebody Else would be a one-time project, and it has blossomed into 3 albums so far!
We don't play dead, which would be exteemely difficult to do; we have not appeared yet outside the studio.
Hendrix, Tull, the Modern Jazz Quartet, Mahavishnu Orchestra
I have already described the Array Instruments. Bill Wesley has many others, all created according to the Array he Developed. The Spelecaster is a Telecaster split through two effects units and mixed back together in unique ways. Diane plays a Germeinhardt (sp?) flute
