Descend is a progressive death metal band from Stockholm, Sweden.
Descend started out early 2003 with it's original line-up. In 2005 the drummer and rhythm guitarist left the band due to internal problems. Vocalist Leo kept the band rolling with lead guitarist Andreas and bass guitarist Jocke. The hunt for a new drummer began and in the autumn Jonathan joined the band after having been contacted by Andreas. The new lineup worked out really well and several new songs were written. The EP Broken Pieces was released spring 2006 with 6 new songs. Shortly after the EP a live video from the venue at Klubben in Stockholm was recorded and released.
At the end of year 2006 bass guitarist Jocke could no longer be a part of the band and so the future laid unsteady as Descend set out for finding a new bassist.
Justin joined the band at the end of May 2007, filling the gap and getting the band going. Though the line-up only lasted 6 months; in the beginning of 2008, Leo decided to leave the band.
Descend continued without singer for some time while writing and searching for a new singer. During this time the style evolved into darker and more progressive metal...
