Meet the Artists:
Chrys Jones
Born in 1989, this artist brings many things to Burgside Records. He is a producer, artist, and CEO of Burgside Records. Chrys was raised as a Christian in Harrodsburg, Kentucky (Burgside gets its name from Harrodsburg). He attended First Baptist Church in Harrodsburg for much of his life and was baptized on December 14th, 1997. After many years he left First Baptist Church and became "worldy". In 1999, the loss of his gradmother changer his entire life. Without his grandmother and church, Chrys began to head down the wrong road. He began trying to be like the rest of his friends. In an attempt to become better than his friends, Chrys began making beats with Fruityloops 3. Although the beats were terrible, that's where God began to work...
Ten years after his baptism, Chrys Jones was well on his way to a life that was given to the LORD. By that time he released a solo mixtape and a mixtape with Josh Smith under 24/7. Chrys is now working hard to minister through the music he makes. He began doing Christian rap under Burgside Records in August of 2006. During the month of August the LORD changed Chrys' heart and mind to make him see Christ. "I was never the tough street thug with a horror story, I was a prideful track athlete in need of the LORD." The LORD now uses Chrys to minister through track as well as through music.
Josh Smith
Nickname: JCS (Jesus Christ Saves)
Birthdate: January 30th, 1989
(Josh's testimony will be added soon!)
Josh Smith has been a member of Burgside Records since the label started. He and Chrys Jones met at school one day and immediately began to talk about Christian rap. From that day on, they began to work on music together. JCS has been a major contribution to Burgside Records for productions as well as providing strong lyrics on every song. He was also Burgside's resource for mainstream Christian rap. Chrys Jones recalls," He's the one who let me hear Lecrae, Tedashii, and Trip Lee". He has been working on beats for only a year and has produced one of the hottest tracks on Chrys Jones' "Transformed".
