Band/artist history
You know that love at first sight thing? I think that applies towards music a little better. Alex, Clarissa, and I were all working at a sandwich shop, trying to pay the bills while trying to express our inner songs with different bands. Alex and Andrew were a part of Letters to Apollo, while Clarissa and I were jamming with a few friends under the guise of Incinerator Ridge. We were each striving for the music, that one sound that would set us above and apart from monotony, but no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't yet reach it. Maybe that's why we were failing, we were forcing ourselves to stay together with our respective projects. Then things slowed down for Letters to Apollo, presenting a space for Alex and I to set up a time for a session. If true love was that amazing music and those first jams were our first sight, then we had found our instrumentation. It was probably the best thing to happen to any of us for a long time. I know it was for me. After that, a singer came a lot more easily than expected and here I should insert a plug for the magic that is Craigslist.com, because that is how Jacob found us. We played what would be "Why are you so Distracting?" and our collective mouths dropped. I had to resist calling for a gigantic group hug as we wrote seven more songs within the next couple of weeks. One month till our first gig, two till we had a polished nine song set, and now we are doing what we love, playing gigs for people who want a little more out of their music. Every day of our strict regiment of practicing, I love getting behind that drum set to pump out new tunes or even just play whatever feels right at the time. Give me the chance and I'll drop everything for what I love. That's my motto and each of us would do the same. You know why that is, we commit c-o-m-m-i-tt-tttt-ttt... tea... We are playing for you. We are playing for us. We are playing for a higher understanding of how music affects individual minds. We are Race You There.
