Band/artist history
Halberd began as a mere concept without application, a dream of a Power Metal band, founded by fearless Lead Singer William Maxwell Caine and the demon scream Vocalist Matthew Cartwright. The band began with a simple Myspace Bulliten, asking musicians to join our struggle, and within the hour the Great Bassist Shane Fields responded with eyes facing the horizon, and signed up to the band. Quickly following suit was the Lead Guitarist and metalhead Anthony Spano, and the drummer so fast it was in his name Alex Quick. The band picked itself up in late December, changing its ideas to base itself more on classic metal, and prepare Power Metal for its originals. Cartright would soon part ways with Halberd to form his own punk band, Dalmatia, and Rythm Guitarist Kevin Kittrell and keyboardist Gabielle Pecson were added to the roster. Halberd is currently a cover band, but hopes to complete originals over the Summer. They have played in 1 live show and are schedules for another on June 28th.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We've currently played at 1 live show. We had an audience of maybe 30, and the act before us was a 4 year old girl dancing to "Having the Time of your Life." Our grand prize that day, a McDonald's gift card, but oh it was awesome. There's something about playing in front of people who may remember your name, it's hard to explain, but anyone in a band or a sports team may understand.
Your musical influences
Our greatest influences are still anyone who's generally good in the fields. Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Helloween, Black Sabbath, even bands like Queen, the Beatles, and Pet Shop Boys are on this list. Our band is influenced by everything we hear.
