We are a 6 piece band from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. (about 30 or so out)
The band has been in the making for about 4 years. Back in early 2002, Josh and Patt met on the football field, and realized they both had an unhealthy infatuation with pop-punk. This obsession turned into a band called No Parking. Josh Played Guitar while Patt sang and played bass. Although a lot of fun, No Parking was not what many would consider a sucessfull band.
In late 2002/2003 Josh and Patt teamed up with David Grzeslo, and Austin Black to form Scarcity. Once again, a lot of fun, but not very successful. Than Joshs friend Jake started to learn how to play guitar, and Patt realized the microphone wasnt the place for him (at least not then) and he picked up the sticks and started drumming. The trio formed a band that had no name, and started playing together in November 2004. David Grzeslo was playing bass, and a group of great friends were all playing together. We became so familiar with each others styles that we were able to predict the next drum beat or chord.
This is when the band decided it needed to complete itself with strong vocals. Josh had a friend from Palatine, Chelsea Gray, who had an amazing voice. Chelsea however was in a musical At Palatine High School, and found nearly all her free time taken up by school, work or the play. The band once again found itself at a loss, but still continued to play together, frequently.
In October of 2005, Josh met Richelle Kamick. Richelle was currently playing her last show with her old band( My Harmless Addiction.) The group took advantage of the opportunity and immediately included her in their musical venture. Richelle fit well with the band, and after the band decided that she was committed, she was in and the band was complete. Then the band ran into yet another snag, and bassist David Grzeslo no longer wanted to be a part of the band due to creative differences, so he left the band. This was a big hit to the band.
While practicing with Hour Of Atonement (Jakes other band, METAL) the band asked there lead guitarist Gabe Argumedo to play bass for them. Gabe is an all around brilliant musician, regardless of the instrument. Gabe agreed to be our bassist. In 2006, Midnight Vespers released their first EP, Black Suits and Samurai Swords; which contained 6 original songs. Gabe left the band in late 2007, and was re-replaced by David Grzeslo. Hannah Watson joined Midnight Vespers in late March, 2009. Her musical talent, as and will prove to be a major addition to Midnight Vespers
Midnight Vespers is currently finishing up the spring semester, and booking many shows for summer 2009... stay tuned for updates.
Thank you for your interest in Midnight Vespers, any questions or comments feel free to ask.
