David Michaels a.k.a SteadySkillz1 Began remixing and producing original music at the age of twelve in the early midst of the explosive rap hip-hop culture. Swept away by the movie Beat Street and its urban dance culture, he and a friend started their own break dancing group named Street Lightening, which quickly grew in members and then became the Hip Hop Rockers. Every chance they had to grab the Radio, Whodini and Cardboard box was got. Break dancing Downtown Boston at Fanuel Hall was a daily event where he shared the floor with other break dancing groups like Floor Patrol and the Floor Lords. David quickly learned how to recreate, combine, sequence and develop new moves and was always up for a Break dancing Battle, and was well liked among all break dancing groups. At night those who break danced daily would record their favorite songs on to cassette tapes for break dancing to the following day. Davids dance style and creativity were the spark that lead him to use a double cassette recorder and an old record player to make his own style remix of his favorite songs for break dancing, they were always a hit at daily performances! As the break dancing craze began to die down David started directing his creative energys towards original music compositions, audio production and audio engineering. Using a $70 Casio keyboard, a double cassette recorder and an old record player, David found himself being sought out by local rappers seeking dope beats. He than began making cassette tapes on request. In 1991 Davids attention was on sound designing and sound wave structures and how they affect each other harmonically. By 1998 he and a friend had rented a cheap room above a tuxedo shop to record his music with out any limits on volume levels and creativity. One month after setting up, David began getting visits from various vocal performers who had heard of his skill and ability to compose and produce new original music. David would work with anybody who liked his music and was supportive of his endeavors. After about eight months Davids friends thought he should start charging people for his time and services, so he decided to register a business name Silent x Productions within the city of Boston, Ma. However, David ultimately felt that he could not accept money for his music and that he was happy that they were happy with their song. From 2000 to present David has continued to work with various artists, composing and producing music at his home while artists rent a secondary studio for adding their vocal tracks. Davids favorite style of music is inspirational, upbeat, and positive, however he also has a weak spot for producing ballads, blues, classical, and alternative rock.
