Band/artist history
It's just me, my guitar and a PC. I've played guitar sporadically for over 20 years now, and only really in the last few years have I really paid attention to actually learning theory/technique and spending time practicing properly. I am a 'rock' guitarist at heart, which I think comes out in my music, but I do enjoy a bit of proggy fusiony indulgent nonsense; the type of music that makes non-musicians' eyes roll hahahaha (see 'Yes' for details).
Your musical influences
Challenge. Each month our wonderful Clicker Club hosts set a challange: write an original piece in a few weeks, in the style/country/concept of their choice. Fantastic! Not a competition, just some great music from the numerous and diverse contributers. I highly recommend having a look over there!I play a hell of a lot of games (gamer for life!), and often use this as inspiration for my tunes. There's a goldmine of ideas and audio to appropriate (hehe) in video games.
Anything else?
I hope that something that comes across in my music is my integrity. I'm not trying to change the world or anything, I just like to make music. At times it may be generic, at times it may be derivitive, at times it may be just a load of nonsense, but it's what I want to write and I like what I write, hehe. If you don't like what you write, then there's something very wrong I think. Anyway, that was "Anything else?" :)
