Growing up in great state of Texas, singer songwriter Gator Ryan is rooted in the simple, yet diverse sound of the American South.
After hearing the great George Jones' voice emanate from a record player at the age of five, the artist inside this artist was brought to life and began to appear within a few years. By the age of twelve, Gator was picking at the guitar and at fifteen had written his first song, a simple ballad about a beer-drinking alligator.
During his teenage years, Gator Ryan began to open up his musical soul to the sounds of the grunge movements with bands such as Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and Nirvana. During his years in the United States Marine Corp, Gator favored his friends with his music, and eventually the "Alligator Song" was sung. The morale-lifting ballad quickly earned him the nickname "Gator" which he performs under today.
