Band/artist history
Our story begins in the north of a small country somewhere in the northern hemisphere of an inconspicuous green blue planet circling a safe distance from an orange sun in the Solar system. During the month of November in the year of 2004, following the disbanding of the musical group named Merrick 1862, a guitar playing human male known as Simon Chester had been writing what he considered to be jolly good little songs. After a number of months of crafting the aforementioned musical pieces the ape descendant enlisted the services of a singing, guitar strumming female called Heather Davies and a fellow male inclined to play bass named Mark Dodds, neither of which wear a digital watch. In-between eating copious amounts of pizza and indulging in the curious pastime of drinking tea this trio of humans decided upon the moniker of World Is Static as the name for their musical collective. Meanwhile a fourth human (whos name or gender wont be revealed for another three sentences in order to create an air of mystery), in town somewhat near the previously mentioned World Is Static, was seeking such a group to practise the ancient art of drumming. Following a message left on the planets electronic computer network known by the indigenous population as the Internet by the first of the humans from this story in September 2005 contact was made. This fourth individual is another human male, this particular one going by the name Kevin Noon. With the four united as World Is Static and public performances looming only time would tell how this tale was to unfold. And unfold things did, like watching a video about origami in reverse. The first gig took place on 29th of October 2005 in a some what small venue, about the size of your average shoe box, in Durham known as the Fish Tank. The place was packed tighter than a tin of sardines & the Static played a blinder. The performance only being marred by heckling from a disgruntled punk at the back of the room. Following the success of the first gig more were to follow. The first of which was at the Sportsman in Bishop Auckland. Due to the questionable navigation skills of the collective World Is Static spent the best part of an hour driving round & round Bishop Auckland trying to find the afore mentioned venue. It was finally located 10 minutes before the band was due to play. Having missed the opportunity to sound check & generally relax before performing, coupled with the stress of being lost (& near fatal automotive accidents), barring a couple of ropy moments the set went well Fast forward past a few gigs some great, some almost as great, to March 2006 & the collective part ways with Mr Dodds. But fear not dear reader as lurking in the shadows was the Dark Reaver himself Sam Tuckett. Having travelled to the northern wastelands in the pursuit of learning he soon discovered that it is indeed grim up north & promptly join World Is Static. Good times promptly follow playing gigs to some of the following Students, big hairy bikers & more students, highly inebriated & wearing school uniform. However in order to balance out the moving north of Sam Tuckett, a few months later Kevin Noon moves southwards & out of the band. Unperturbed World Is Static carries on, now with the assistance on Benji Vengeance. Could this being be missing piece to the puzzle, the ying to our yang, or the 42 to our question? Only time will tell Time told & no he wasnt. A couple of stops & starts alter Susan Murray drummer extraordinaire joined World Is Static.
