Shanice Nice Cooper former member of Profound Intent turned Solo Diva!
Shanice Nice Cooper from Washington, D.C. is an 17 year-old solo diva on her way to the top of the charts. As a former member of Profound Intent shes worked directly at the side of Rapper-Songwriter LaPret who allowed her to partake greatly in writing for the group, this was a first.
In April 2007 she joined the group temporarily replacing its original Lead Singer. Shanice immediately went to work on recording the groups Still Profound album and won 7 Garage Band Awards for the single Work It. The group was awarded the Best Female Vocals award for the outstanding vocal performance delivered by Shanice, while her prototype LaPret earned the group the Best Lyrics award for his outstanding creativity in songwriting. In early September 2007 Shanice was offered a recording deal which would require her departure from the group; however the deal was with the same recording label South Capitol Recordings and besides she was temporarily filling-in for a recently nixed member of the group until 2008 when the group was going to slim to a trio -featuring three of the four original members-, having jumpstarted a solo career for Shanice.
Adapting the single which already earned her and Profound Intent rave reviews and 7 prestigious awards, Shanice is now promoting Work It as her debut single. Her 2008 debut EP will feature an all-new recording of the single featuring former groupmate LaPret. Stay Tune!
