Pawel Siwczak is a freelance harpsichordsit, specialist in early keyboard playing, pursuing his degree at the Royal Academy of Music where he is also a teacher. He is the winner of Broadwood Harpsichord Competition 2007 and Musica Britannica Competition in 2006. Band/artist history
Pawel Siwczak, harpsichordist & early keyboard specialist, teacher at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Pawel graduated with honours from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. He studied harpsichord and fortepiano with Carole Cerasi, as well as clavichord with Terence Charlston at the Royal Academy of Music, where he is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree with the support of the Isabel May Walton Award, and earlier the Peter Le Huray Award. In May 2007 Pawel won th 8th Broadwood Harpsichord Competition; in April 2006 he won the Sir Anthony Lewis Memorial Prize founded by Musica Britannica Trust for the performance of early English music. Pawel Siwczak performs actively as a soloist and with chamber ensembles, including the Donum Musicum Baroque quartet. He has played in orchestras conducted by Laurence Cummings, William Christie and Simon Standage, and his touring activities took him to countries such as France, Holland, Sweden, Malta, Russia, England and Poland. Pawel has also founded The Kingâs Private Musick, period instrument ensemble specializing in performing vocal-instrumental music. He has taken part in masterclasses with prominent musicians, including Kenneth Gilbert, James Johnstone and Elzbieta Czerny-Stefanska. Pawel Siwczak has taught keyboard studies at the Warsaw Academy and participated in a project of the Polish National Philharmony in Warsaw which aimed to popularise Baroque dance amongst young people.
