A death/black metal band from New York. It consists of only 2 members, Mick Bynes (vocals/guitar) and Tom Howell (drums).
You can date this back as far as 1999/2000! It officially began in 2007 though. I knew Tom well before that however, but I didn't actually get to truly know him once we started talking to each other using type writers hooked up to a square thingies that resembled a television screens. There was also a modem involved? Anyhow, I discovered that Tom was a guitarist and a drummer as we continued talking to each other through this weird piece of technology. I was only a novice guitarist at the time (I still feel like I am) while Tom had a few years of experience playing guitar and drums. We exchanged numbers and we wanted to meet. We finally met one fine day circa 1999 at his house in Pomona. He was the first person I ever met through the uhh... internet? He played drums and I played guitar. Since that day, Tom and I were jamming on and off for many years. We only recorded a few jam sessions on a Radio Shack tape recorder (talk about old school!). I had them recorded, because he had recordings of jam sessions that he was involved and not involved in. He made me get into death metal more and it's the only type of music I will play as musician. Tom invited me to this jam session with 3 other people at this dude's house in Pomona. On that night, it marked the first time I was ever on a recorded jam session. That jam session was a bloody unorganized mess. This was a landmark recording, because it features myself doing death metal vocals for the first time! The first one with only Tom and I was recorded during December of 2003 in Tom's bedroom in Suffern. That was cool and I was satisfied with that recording. There's a Death medley on there, but it's not that impressive. On that same day I remember listening to some old demo unrelased by Malicious Onslaught, this local band from the area. It inspired me and I knew I had to form a band. Another jam session was recorded in late 2004 in my basement. This one contains the first time I play guitar and do vocals! They were fun to record, but those recordings are for only our amusement. I had many talks about a project with Tom, even on the first day we met each other personally. Many of these talks about forming a project would be on the phone. We had a little disagreements here and there, but nothing major. Tom later moved to Texas. When he came back to New York he formed a project called Blood Feast Island Man (Tom came up with the name) with unrelased recordings. Yes, they did play a few gigs at bars during their brief existence. I was a big fan of them, since Tom was the drummer of the band. Around this period of time I had many good times with Tom. We didn't jam at all since he was occupied with BFIM. However we both hung out, played video games, and stuff like that. OK now that we got that out of the way, our project was somewhat formed in the month of January of 2007 in my basment with only Tom and I being the members. I tried getting a couple others, but it didn't work out. We decided to play Christian hard rock... so we can make a lot of money and make a platinum record. OK, so this was not an official band by any means and we were not serious about it. We didn't make any promises of making this a serious band at all. It wasn't a joke band however like A.C. and countless others. We did not play any gigs at all. We only jammed and you can say this was a jam band. I sang (more like screaming and growling) and played guitar while my friend played the drums. Nuclear Holocaust (a rough demo) was recorded on the same old tape recorder on the same day the band formed. This was a song I wrote back in 2003 and many pedestrian recordings of it exist. I showed it to him the year it was written, but nothing ever materialized until over 3 years later. It's called a rough demo, because this song will become a demo done in a studio and eventually become an actual song done in a better studio. There was no name for the band during the first month. I asked Tom to come up with a name, since he came up with one for the last project he was involved with. Tom came up with the name a month or so later. After that, the only rough demo recording was up on MySpace exclusively. We decided that it should undownlodable. There were also talks of having other members, but no one was available and Tom was busy with others things. There were only a few positive responses towards the rough demo recording and literally only a couple negative reactions. One thought it was an old school black metal demo recording and a person oblivious to extreme metal said were influenced by Rage Against The Machine. The band was on hiatus throughout the months of March and April. May came around and I decided to delete th original MySpace. It is unclear whether this band is going to continue or not. I still keep in touch with Tom, despite the fact the band is not really active. Even though we never played a gig together, I had fun with this band. We may jam here and there again, but we're not ready to put together a full-fledged project at this point in time.
Never played live.
