SOME OF My ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN MUSIC: My first gig was at The American Legion in south Corpus Christi Texas. In 1983 formed a band called Malfunction. Formed Light Force a rock band that wrote a song about the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy in 1986. Since 1986 I have been performing as a singer/songwriter in nightclubs performing both Southern Rock and Country music. In Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana and Texas. In 1987 Light Force recorded and released their single Titled Challenger the flip side Burning Hearts. I have been an "independent-recording artist since 1987." Songwriter, Publisher "Florida Light Force Production" member of BMI since 1987. 1989: formed The Southern Delite Band. 1993: Coy formed The Silver Dollar Band. I am self-taught on bass , electric and acoustic guitar 6 and 12 string, piano and took formal lessons on drums at one of Tampa's local music stores I studied voice training from The Vocal Power Institute. I Recorded This Mountain and Beside Every Man in Nashville in 1995. In the fall of 1995 made and released a music video of Beside Every Man. 2000: I was the democratic Nominee for Florida House District 63. 2001: Myself and the Silver Dollar Band got serious and recorded our We Can't pickup the Pieces CD we sold this CD while playing in the Clubs. 2003: Myself and the Silver Dollar Band started our Radio Tour at WZZS Heartland Country Zolfo Springs, FL on December 11, 2003 and finished it at Wals 102 Fm in Peru Illinois around April 20th 2004! Coy Castleberry was born in Texas one of seven children. Coy has four children. He is married to his sole mate Gloria. Coy says while he loves to perform his passion is writing music. "The songs I write, I have lived or my friends and family have lived them. They are a part of my life as much as my children are. Song writing to me is one of the greatest talents that God gave me, I love doing it and give credit to him".
