A quick Q&A session.
WHAT MAKES YOU DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER ARTIST IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY?
I have an ability to open my mind, walk in different shoes to understand different styles of music. Im versatile with my delivery(tongue twisting to normal). I go outside the realms of what is considered normal. Certain lyrics are thought provoking , witty punch lines. My music production travels on a long scale also I tend to lean towards tunes and sounds that are rarely heard and melodies that just arent common but Able to penetrate peoples ears and have them nodding their heads.
STYLE OF DRESS(Shoes/clothes, etc.)
Shelltoe Adidas(various colors) Jeans, Jimi Hendrix memorabilia T-shirts -Im a simple dude, nothing flashy, just me, I can dress it up when needed
WHAT IS YOUR GOAL IN THIS CAREER OF MUSIC?
Touch minds, ears, and hearts. Make money doing what I love. Start not just another hip hop label, but a music label that caters equally to various genres of music.
IF YOU WERENT IN MUSIC WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING?
Pursuing a career in culinary arts, becoming a chef.
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT LISTENERS TO GAIN FROM YOUR MUSIC?
Gain an open mind. A tolerance for music, words, soul , education and knowledge mixing together. Learn from what Im saying in my music, doing with my music and how Im making my music.
Band/artist history
Born January 12, 1983 in Gainesville, Fl Kijofa Ellis was born to James and Deloris Ellis. Music was back then as it it now...his air, his essence and ultimate turn towards happiness. At a young age he would be found pulling out pots and pans from under the kitchen sink and banging on them all day long at the tender age of 3. With a mother who was an evangelist, church music was his first taste of live music being played and once said that "Religion is good, I'm spiritual, but I go to church for the live and free music." His first listen at hip hop music was to the sounds of legendary emcee's, Slick Rick, MC Ltye and Big Daddy Kane, since then hip hop has been pumping through his veins w/ his blood which is truly a mixture of determination, drive and wit and God given talent. By high school Kijofa found himself in his first rap group...OUT OF A FEW which was short lived and disbanded due to creative and irreconcilable differences. He then began joining in freestyle battles around school, gaining a small margin of popularity then fell into the right hands and became a side kick to the local group...KOALITION. KOALTION released an album titled NEW AGE GENESIS, where Kijofa got his first cIhance to shine. He was featured on 4 tracks including a 3 minute solo, verbal massacare titled, PURE AUTHENTIC. K.O.A. never really left ground to take flight as they were expected to do. Kijofa stayed with some members of the group to form EUPHAME in early 2002. Kijofa was featured on Jeruff's fall 2003 album, in which Kijofa spoke on his mother's death, state of the world and just laid it out as some of his best vocals yet. .....With the new EUPHAME album rapped up and promotions underway Euphame is gearing up for a road tour and in the midst of that, Kijofa is working on his long-awaited and past due solo album. "Cochise Coltrane" I edited my profile with
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I play shows in town when the chance comes along. I love it. There's something about actually getting on stage and commanding the crowd...even the most introvert person can rock the crowd.
