Thick Description is often mellow, always intelligent hip hop with a variety of different influences and lots of insightful messages.
Thick Description, a term first coined by famed anthropologist Clifford Geertz, is subtitled as a notion "toward an interpretive theory of culture." The phrase was adopted as a new name for a group formed by two young aspiring rappers in 2006 when they met in Colorado Springs, CO. Trevor Cobb (hailing from Corrales, NM) and Logan "Log-a-Rhythm" Roberts (hailing from Durham, NC) became fast friends and began recording on beats created primarily by another friend, Seth Brayton (Brooklyn, ME). The group continues to record and looks to release a full album soon.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
