My first instrumental of 2024.

My 'cover' of a song by Fountains Of Wayne. I've stayed quite true to the original. For those who like to know this kind of thing, I used my Yamaha Pacifica 612V through a Line 6 Pod Go, with a Marshall JCM 800 amp sim. and a 4x12 cab, close miked

A semi-automatic improvised recording. There was no pre-planning here. I just let my imagination carry me along as I improvised.

A re-imagining of the recent 'Beatles' song, Now And Then. Just Imagine that it was recorded in 1965.

A slowly evolving experimental piece. I recorded this in 2009. I was influenced by mid-period Soft Machine at this point in time.

My 'cover' / re-imagining of the classic by Andrew Gold. I've given it the 'Major Snagg treatment'. There's a touch of 'Twang' and instead of saxophone solos, as in the original, I've added some interesting guitar solos.

I recorded this in 2011... I've just tweaked the EQ very slightly for this 'upgraded version. My first recollection of this fabulous song is hearing the version by Tony Joe White at the tail end of the 1960s. I loved it immediately.

A song with lots of guitar interest. A song with lots of vocal harmonies too. Just for your information. I used my red Yamaha MSG Deluxe guitar. Bass was as usual my Rickenbacker 4003. all played through a Line 6 Pod Go unit.

It's basically just what it says on the tin ... a high energy Pop Rock song.
