The word band, for me, could be a little misleading. I bill myself as a solo quartet. I do all the tracks, lay them down, and then play live with it giving the sound of anywhere from 4 to 10 instruments playing. I have done over 30,000 arrangements this way and over 100 original pieces..jazz, Latin, ballads. I have now completed a muscial/lyrical story and working on the second one.
A serious head injury that required a 3 year recovery changed me from a science guy to an arts person. I am self taught and now play professionally. All of my arrangements are created by me, and, I also have written about 100 original pieces.
For my arrangements I create and play up to 8 tracks and then play on top of them sounding like an entire band..sometimes like an entire orchestra.
Play live, mostly corporate functions. Have also played in a number of cafes/restaurants/hotels and golf courses.
During my 'recovery' period (following the accident) I spent a lot of time at Starbucks. I wrote 12 short stories here and the music in the background led me to jazz.
Many of my original songs are well suited to tv/movies...I guess I just need someone to listen to them.
