This is my profile on CDbaby.com - I just can't add anything to it:
"Born in Russia in the industrial city of Ufa, Andrew Roussak began to learn to play piano at the age of 7. After having graduated from the Ufa State College of Arts as a pianist, Andrew was employeed as a studio musician and as a chief musical editor at the local broadcast station. Side by side with the classical music , his major influences of that period were the recordings of Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman. Since that time till today, the massive keyboard sound together with the virtuoso keyboard and piano solos feature his recordings made for the various bands and projects.
Since 2001, Andrew Roussak lives in Germany as a freelance artist, playing live gigs with the bands and solo concerts, writing orchestra scores, doing studio jobs and giving the piano and keyboard lessons. In 2006, Andrew won the German Pop & Rock Award as the best keyboard player and the best instrumental soloist ."
I play live with two bands - HENRY and Dorian Opera, sometimes on relatively big open-airs, sometimes in the smaller music clubs. I enjoy playing live and am really happy when the people like our music...Well, they do normally. ( !!! ) I do also play private piano concerts - jazz and classical music as well as my own compositions.
My major influences are definitely Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman, my favourite classical composer is J.S.Bach. Other great musicians , composers and bands that I admire ( to name a few ): Glenn Gould, Oscar Peterson, Chick Corea, Sviatoslav Richter; all famous baroque composers; Frederik Schopin, George Gerschwin, Maurice Ravel, Modest Mussorgsky; the bands - The Beatles, Gentle Giant, Yes, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, ELP, Dream Theater ....
My absolutely favourite instrument is my grand piano KAWAI GE-20!! ( not on the picture ). For live gigs presently: Roland XP-80 and KAWAI MP4. For studio works: Cakewalk Sonar 3, E-MU 1212m and lots of plug-ins from NI, Spectrasonics, Steinberg, Waves.
