The Singularities are simply about two guys who love music. Histories, former bands, record labels, and everything else are all there, but the important thing is the love of music. We mix live instruments with computers now where we use to make it with just guitars, bass, and drums, but the reason is still the same. It's a fact that Kent and I would be making up songs regardless. It's not about anything else other than the bug that caught us both when we were young, and for different reasons. We make happy songs, aggressive songs, depressing songs, and soppy/sentimental songs too. The songs are just a filter we can make to see life through. Good luck boxing it all together in a neat little package, we certainly can't. Our self titled debut album is currently on sale at www.thesingularities.com!!!(it will also be available soon at itunes, rhapsody, napster, and other internet retailers) ...above all... THANKS FOR LISTENING!!!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not recently as we are currently recording a new album.
Your musical influences
Bill- Radiohead, Blur, Damon Albarn, Pavement, Gorillaz, Dave Eggers, Spiritualized, Noam Chomsky, Chuck Palahniuk, Nas, The Police, Lupe Fiasco, Sonic Youth Arcade Fire, The Strokes, Dust Brothers, John Lennon, The Beatles, Bjork, Stanley Kubrick, David Fincher, George Lucas, just a few...basically anyone whose made something that I have identified with in a meaningful way and that made me want to create something in turn... Kent- television, religion, literature, attractive asian women swinging on a rusty swing set in the middle of a winter rain storm humming the theme song to "the love boat" while wearing a chicken outfit, alcohol, the fact that i can die, the fact that i am alive, every concert i see that makes me look up on that stage and wish that i was them, food that tastes good... like rice crispy treats, vinyl records, mp3s, cassettes, 8-tracks, cds, the sound of my turn signal "click, click, clicking" as i wait for the light to change, sex, clouds, humans, animals, and the atari 2600 that sits at the bottom of my entertainment center and quietly symbolizes the simplicity of my childhood and the complexity of my adulthood.
What equipment do you use?
