Born and raised in South West Florida (Palmetto/Bradenton/Sarasota), Eugene T. Mays III (Geno) & Darrius D Yarn (Skunk Boogie) met when they were 14 in High School, and they have been writing, recording, and producing music together ever since. They later found out that they were cousins.
Geno has been making beats since the age of 12. He has produced for most of the local Hip-Hop, Reggae, and R&B artists in Bradenton and Sarasota, Florida. He has also produced, along with Red Lion, for the debut album "The Journey" of reggae artist-2x Award winner-Ambassador Junior Lion, from the Caribbean island of St-Martin. Junior Lion won Reggae Artist of the Year, and Recording Artist of the Year at the St-Martin Music Awards in 2006.
Geno is currently negotiating production deals with two rappers from France and Belgium, in Europe.
Geno and Skunk have been performing for years together locally, state wide, and internationally. They went on a Florida promo-tour, with Supa D in 2003. They also performed in Freeport, Bahamas.
They have shared the stage with rappers such as Bone Crusher, Acafool, and Chopper.
Geno & Skunk's video for "Fly" was the Urban Weekly Winner of a contest sponsored by Musicnation.com, Sony, and Epic Records for the week of 2/12/07-2/18/07.
Their first official duo/group album "Problem Solved" is scheduled to be released on June 26, 2007 via Original Records.
