STALKER STAR is a one-man IDM & electronic ambient act, brought in existance from me, former player of oboe in music school, Vardan Chuchkov in 1991. It was known in the undergound life of then Skopje under the moniker of Kowloon Gray, and the first album was recorded in the studio of Vlatko Kaevski - Kiborg in 1996, and the album was called " Living Still Dead". One song from it made fantastic success - it was called 'The dance of the devil's bride" (wich demo was made on a pc 386 with scream tracker program) and it was sunged by the popular Macedonian actress Arna Shijak.
Band/artist history
STALKER STAR is a one-man IDM & electronic ambient act, brought in existance from me, Vardan Chuchkov, former player of oboe in music school & also steel acustic guitar player and an electric guitar if thers need be (i was on 17 yrs the first guitar in a jazz-rock band from Skopje in the early 90's, when nirvana and pearl jam got out and we were prior that listening ambient & experimental jazz, like Jan Garbarek, Chick Korea, Pat Metheny and so on... The band was called " Metropolis" and we were VERY good for 16yearolds!! The act was known in the undergound life of then Skopje under the moniker of Kowloon Gray, and the first album was recorded in the studio of Vlatko Kaevski - Kiborg in 1996, and the album was called " Living Still Dead". One song from it made fantastic success - it was called 'The dance of the devil's bride" (wich demo was made on a pc 386 with scream tracker program) and it was sunged by the popular Macedonian actress Arna Shijak. Since then I bought a pentium3 on 1gigahertz and in 2003 recorded (however non-profesional) the second album now under the moniker of Kowloon White - and the album was named " The Crossings", and it was electronic to the bone. Then came the equipment. In a matter of 3 years I built a pro-studio consisting of PC athlon2200+ 768ram running M-Audio Delta 10/10 24/96 multichanel card ; then i got a loop sampler yamaha SU200, you can process the samples in a really cool ways ; a Korg Triton Le complete with the sampling upgrade and 48mbram was recently swapped for a vintage analogue polysynth Roland Juno-106 and a vintage lofi sampling kboard E-MU Emax HD; a double diafragm condenser mic behringer B2 in pair with a Tube mic preamp ; a double-chanell analog tube expander/compressor/limiter (thats where my best sounds come trough);an Roland mc-303 , wich has very nice 808 &b 909 kits; small 8 chanell mixer with 24 bit effects; a Korg MS2000br an analog modeling synth, my newest purchase from 26th of may 2007 was the Roland Jupiter4, an analog beast from the 70's, wich will be soon swapped for a VA synth from Roland made in 2007 alled SH-201 wich functions as a usb audio kard besides being an ultra good analog modeling synth - wich will fall rightly in the usb port of the laptop am planning to get anytime soon 4 the sh-201 to act as his profi audio card (as u see am not an analogue 'purist' i still have the Juno) - and finally monitoring nirvana provided by Tannoy Reveal. Perfect, tight as a virgin's pussy, crisp, deep and so physicly small fantastic sounding speakers... In 2004 i recorded the fantastic lo-fi acidy album as Kowloon White called " Born with the law on his lips" In that period i met with Jana Jakimovska, the girl wich sings in the other project we do, called "Witch 8". Its in a kinda electro-gothick fazon. With Witch Eight in 2004-5 we recorded an album called " Lust ". We had several very well accepted and undergroundly popular songs,we had some public apearences, they released us on a compilation - so me and Jana dont think to stop the project...in no way. I will make soon myspace page for Witch 8 also. In the meantime, as creative guy as i am, i recorded the tech-ambient-house album under 'Ahih Asher Ahih' named 'Invokation of Kundalini M'. It was a good try on more comercial electronica. In 2005-6 i recorded the double-album called "24hour pieces" - you have one track for every hour of the day & nite - and its already uploaded on sounclick. From '24hour pieces' i adopted the Stalker Star band identity. Then in '06 i made the fantastic " Az Buki Vedam Glagolam " album wich contain 14 entheogenic track capable of showing you whole new worlds - that one is too uploaded on sclick, so enjoy it ... And finally now I finished the 'Alexandria' trilogy wich consists of 3 cd's/albums called - 'Ar Makedon'; 'The Gordi-On mistake' and 'The abyss'- wich deals with the ancient macedonian history saga and the great macedonian Tzar Aleksandar Veliki and his noble task that failed coz noone was open-minded enough to understand what was Alexander trying to accomplish...and so on...The whole trilogy is already finished AND uploaded on soundclick for you to enjoy & rejoice!!! Greetz to all my fans and i sent special greetingz to all publishing houses interested in publishing highly creative/good/unique IDM artists... All u PR ppl out there - let me make money 4 you and your houses ! STALKER STAR
