My name is Javier Alcalde. Arcanda is the name I use when I record my songs. Some years ago I had a band called like that and I even recorded an album for a local company. I have just recorded a self-produced album called "Esta es la noche" ("This is the night").
I like to sing in English and Spanish, and I love to use as many musical styles as possible. I think all kind of music styles are great, and I don't want just to do one. But for me it's essential that songs can send a powerful messages to everybody. I try to write lyrics that can make people reflect, and at the same time enjoy. And I want melodies that can conquer hearts, and at the same time good arrangements that make great songs.
I don't know if I can really get it, it's up to you to tell me that. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.
You can find me too on www.arcanda.com and www.myspace.com/arcanda
Arcanda is a musical concept created by Javier Alcalde in Zaragoza (Spain) in 2000, and for almost 7 years it has been introduced in different musical ways.
As a band, 6 young musicans were part of the original Arcanda (Javier Alcalde, Raquel Agudo, Cecilia Grilló, Pilar Val, Miguel Armero and Beatriz Alcalde), but a lot of other musicians have been a part in different moments. Arcanda released its first album ("The Order Of Time" - "El Orden del Tiempo", on the company Delicias Discográficas (SMZC) in 2003: clich here to go to Discography.
. In 2004 Arcanda included 2 new songs in a collective album called "Musica 1". And during these years Arcanda played in a lot of concerts, celebrations, festivals, local TV stations, etc.
Arcanda is in favour of musical and cultural mixture. For this reason, in our songs we have mixed different musical sounds like Celtic music, folk, blues, funk, new age, bossa nova, rumba or pop. But always with a distinct "Arcanda" style.
Now, in 2007, Javier Alcalde released his first album, "Esta es la noche" ("This is the night") with songs in English and Spanish, and with the characteristic Arcanda sound.
I have played live a lot of times, with a lof of bands. I really adore to be on stage, there is really electricity up in the air when music takes place.
