Listen to our music on
Through the ashes of Hellish Prediction in 1995, Marcio Guterres - Lord Grave War, guitarist and vocalist, meets Juliana Novo - DarkMoon, guitarist, beginning in 1996 their funest activities, looking for bassist and drummer but still composing. After in 1999, DarkMoon becomes the drummer, and Leandro Menezes - Tormentor joins Crucifixion as the bassist. After two concerts Tormentor left the band.
The band's name 'Crucifixion' was chosen by Lord Grave, inspired by a Sepultura song named "Crucifixion".
The goal of Crucifixion BR is an original, diabolic and brutal Black Metal, having various influences of 80's thrash metal, death metal and having as their essence the black metal roots.
They have played in several concerts in their hometown, Rio Grande, always having a great receptivity; thus, two concerts done in October/2000 and November/2000 were recorded in a Demo-CD, named Live Possession.
In December/2001, Grave and DarkMoon met Jan Felipe Queiroz - Den Rode Med Horn, x-bassist of MZ.412, a Dark Ambient band from Sweden. He joined Crucifixion and they played in a great concert at CalderÃo bar in Cassino Beach on February/2002. In March/2002 they recorded two Demo-CDs named Diabolical Profecies and In The Shadows Of The Obscurity. The recording of both CD's was done during a whole day at the Solaris Studio from Rio Grande. The first one had four old songs composed in 1996/1997, and the second one had four songs from their latest phase. After finishing the recordings, Den Rode Med Horn returned to Sweden.
They have played in many gigs in the following brazilian cities: Pelotas, Cassino, Caxias, Lajeado, Rio Grande, Novo Hamburgo, Canoas, SÃo Leopoldo and Porto Alegre, opening the concert for Krisiun in their last show of the Assassination tour, that is the most important act of their career so far. 2007 was indeed the best year for the band.
Sometime in 2008, Crucifixion will release their first full-length album "Destroying The Fucking Disciples Of Christ" cointaining 12 tracks plus a Venom cover - Schizo - as bonus track. The album is being recorded and mixed at Hurricane Studio in Porto Alegre, Brazil and mastered in Karlskoga, Sweden by Henrik Nordvarg. Cover art done by Bjorn Schistad.
