Surrounded by a family of musicians since birth, twenty-seven year old MC,producer,songwriter, and composer Jura Shaheed is gifted with organic and synthetic musical abilities to put together songs made for the listener's pleasure. This Chicago native has an unconditional love and appreciation for foundational music genres such as Traditional Jazz, Soul, Electronica, New Wave and Hip-Hop. "My first performance as an "MC" took place at an event held by the Cook County Hospital in the summer of 1996" Jura remembers. Jura is currently putting the finishing touches on his soulful Hip-Hop debut album, a musical expression of his lyrical/production artistry that fuses different drum sounds, soulful music samples, all with a unique blend of charasmatic word usage to convey messages of positivity and realism to his audience. "I realize how hard it is to put out an independent product that will aim to satisfy the masses". Working hard in the studio, writing songs, and recording music non-stop, Jura has finished two albums worth of material. "I've been making beats and writing lyrics since I was 15, and I knew essentually what I needed regarding the right music blends in order to stand out from today's rappers that all sound the same". "In the song entitled "Alike Minded" I spoke about a childhood friend of mine named Abe Parker the 3rd who was with me at my grand ma's house one morning before he & I went to school. He was there alongside of me to bear witness to some words she spoke to us that continue to stain my brain to this day". He says. "I remember it like it was yesterday, because she stopped us from practicing martial arts in the frontroom of her house and said, "Nu-Nu, you and Abe can be whatever you want to be if you both put your mind to it". Timeless Arts is an Arts and Entertainment label that is the brain child of a visionary from Chicago,Il. It was created to give both musicians and artists alike an outlet of expression, also to display their talents to their demographic as well as learn who they are and aren't able to market to on an indie level. The company itself was founded in January of 2004 and has developed it's first Hip Hop Artist since then. Jura Shaheed, has been in the performing arts since 1996. Although he began with playing instruments in the percussion field since the age of 8, his knowledge of music itself has grown successfully as displayed in his synthetic musical works upon thisHave you performed in front of an audience?Yes. I play live. At local venues and out of town venues. Currently I'm exploring the West Coast Market.
