War of Karthaus is a studio solo metal project headed by Alex Rowles. In 2005 Alex started a studio solo project called Death by Fire. There he wrote metal with zero recording experience or writing experience. In 2006 "Metalcore" was at it's prime turning Death by Fire into a side project for Alex's musical creativity, while he played in two local "Metalcore" bands. After his departure from those bands Alex began to focus on Death by Fire as his main project once again.
in 2007 Death by Fire released three songs and was growing fast in it's new style of "Industrial Metal / Melodic Death Metal". Becoming popular in a network of 19 countries via myspace Death by Fire was becoming a well known project in the myspace community.
Originally in 2007 Alex created War of Karthaus to be his "Black Metal / Melodic Death Metal" side studio project to Death by Fire so that he could explore darker music without tainting the lyrical concepts of Death by Fire. War of Karthaus never amounted to anything then and was thrown away to be forgotten until 2011.
War of Karthaus was reinstated so that Alex could write metal in a project that wouldn't reflect him on a personal and moral level anymore. In mid-fall of 2008 Alex came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ by accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and became a born again Christian by the power of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. After his salvation Alex tried to write music that would glorify Christ in the medium of Metal in a collaboration studio project, but never came to pass. Alex then stopped trying to write Metal for Jesus and continued on with Death by Fire alone not knowing where it would lead him.
In late 2008 Death by Fire's myspace page was hacked leaving Alex's growing network to be severed. Since then Death by Fire tried to make come back attempts and all repeated tries failed. In 2009 Death by Fire covered Rammstein's "Engel" experimenting on the other side of "Industrial Metal" upon the request of a good German friend. This lead to the birth of Alex's first song written in German as he continued to experiment with a more electronic "Industrial Metal". Death by Fire then went into a hiatus only to be dismantled in June, 2011.
War of Karthaus was reestablished in June of 2011 for the same reason why it was originally formed in 2007. Alex thought it was pretty important, since he is a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ that he should shy away from working with his former project. Death by Fire had served it's purpose, but it was time for him to move on from it and embrace the fresh start War of Karthaus provided. After reinstating War of Karthaus Alex immediately started pre-production for his first successful song "Forgiveness Of A Soul" and pre-production for his upcoming album "Death by Fire: Life in Christ". The elements that make War of Karthaus more unique than what was being done in Death by Fire is that no particular style of metal is being pursued. War of Karthaus is primarily "Thrash / Industrial Metal / Black Metal" with other Metal stylistic forms integrated in the sound such as "Metalcore", "Power Metal", "Melodic Death Metal", and "Progressive Metal" as well.
Enjoy Metal? Then you will surly enjoy War of Karthaus! Stay posted for more details coming soon.
