DELFINO MADRIGAL GIL He is one of the composers and more prominent organists of Mexico. He was born in 1924 in Erongarícuaro, Mich., to borders of the lake of Pátzcuaro. He entered the Choir of Children of the city of Morelia in 1935. He obtained his diploma of the License of Gregorian Song in March of 1946, and the Teaching in composition in July of 1951. He had as professors of piano to the teacher Ignacio Mier Arriaga in the Superior School of Sacred Music. Under the direction of the eminent teacher Miguel Bernal Jiménez, he did his studies of composition and organ, obtaining the Teaching of the same one in the Superior School of Sacred Music of Guadalajara, Jal., the 6 of July of 1963 with Hermilio Hernandez as Magistrate, Domingo Lobato and P. Jesus Aréchiga. In 1961 was named organist Titular of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico , D. F. In that position, he plays his same works that are the following ones: Toccata for organ, the Sonata of Church, Guadalupe Choral Mass , the funeral Mass in memory of the Bernal teacher, numerous matins, eves and five masses more, with a remarkable Gregorian style. He took part in the Festival on complete works from Johan Sebastián Bach, organized by the Union of Organists, like in the organ of the National Audience, in the cities of Morelia, Guadalajara and others of the Mexican Republic. Soon he decides to return to his beloved earth of Michoacán, and in Morelia he gives by some years, lessons of Gregorian Song, Harmony, Contra punt and Organ in the Conservatory of the Roses. In the last years he has been dedicated with his daughter and son; Rose Maria and Eugene, to organize and to play in Festivals of the great composers of music: Johan Sebastian Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Caesar Franck and Miguel Bernal Jiménez. In October of 1994 he made a tour with his son and daughter in Vancouver, Canada. And in the summer of 1998 in Paris, and the French province of the Canourgue and Mende. In the 15 of May of 2005 a Tribute in the city of Guanajuato, Gto.was surrendered to him, where he himself participated with a concert, whose program included his compositions.
