Woodslide started as an acoustic band back in early 94. Mike, Don and Noah had various friends play congas, and they wrote some sensitive folky type songs. They soon set up residency at Hang n Java coffee shop. Later in '94 they added Ryan Clark on guitar, which expanded the color in their sound. Their first and only CD, "Anyways..." came out in early 95. Around that time they started to add drums and switch to more of an electrified rock sound. They went through a few drummers before settling on Seth in late 96. Along the way they had a few side members come and go, like Rick "Yishmet" Meyers on slide and Clark Graham on viola. In early 97 they called it quits.
That's the history in a nutshell, but those who were there know there was more to it than words can express...lots of drama and passion and a total love affair with all those who came out to experience the music.
