Sir Harrison and the Blues Kings a band formed out of Flagstaff, Arizona. The band is fronted by lead guitarist and vocalist, Harrison Begay. He is back by Arizona blues hall of fame bassist Jimmy Mack and Organist Tom McMillon. They are currently searching for a new drummer. The band has been turning heads since the arrival of Sir Harrison 2 years ago to the Northern region of AZ. The soulful guitar licks are backed by smooth vocals. His style of playing is his own. His influences range from Albert Colling, SRV, Robert Cray, Jimi Hendrix, etc.
Band/artist history
I'm a Full Blood Navajo (Dine') born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. I've been playing music since the age of eight. My first band "Colorblind" was formed in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I had the pleasure playing with bassist, producer and engineer Leo Okeke. I made the decision to leave my career and focus on music back in 2003. I've always been fortunate to play with great talent such as bass player Richard Neville, who has played with Poco, Vince Gill, Tanya Tucker. Drummer Eddy Baratini who played with Stanley Jordon, Richie Havens. and many others who have helped in my music career. My current music project is "Sir Harrison and the Blues Kings", backed by bassist Jimmy Mack and Organist Tom McMillon. We currently looking for a drummer. Our live shows are full of blues, funk, rock and swing but always based around our love for blues music.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play about four gigs a month ranging from clubs, benefits, biker runs and opening for bigger acts. We play all over Arizona mainly in the northern region. We love playing live, thats where we come to life. Our last special moment is when we opened the show for Blues-Rock band "Indigeous". U can say we stole the show.
Your musical influences
Robert Johnson, Ablbert Collins, Albert King, Freddy King, BB King, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Hendrix, SRV, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and many others...
What equipment do you use?
Fender, boss pedals
