Swim Deeper sounds like a mix of Steely Dan, Paul Simon, and Pat Metheny. Part rock, part jazz, this band can write catchy melodies to accompany their sometimes quirky lyrics.
Their first CD "Triangles" is a combination of upbeat grooves, lazy "summertime" music, and some great jazz instrumentals mixed in.
We think you'll enjoy this one!

Swim Deeper formed in 1998 as a cover band playing lots of Steely Dan and Dave Matthews, but the members have always written music. We finally decided to make the switch to playing mostly our own stuff and mixing some cover tunes in for good measure. Check out our website at SWIMDEEPER.COM for more samples of our songs.
We play gigs around Connecticut, but at the moment have been busy recording our next CD at Studio 17 in Waterford. It's a great sounding studio run by a talented drummer.
Steely Dan, Alan Parsons, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Kansas, Government Mule, Allman Brothers, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Pat Metheny, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Jeff Lorber, George Gershwin, of course Jimi, and lots more.
Pro Tools for recording, Ed (drums) beats-up Drums Works drums, Jim (bass) plucks a red Fender, Geoff (sax) has both alto and tenor (not sure of the brand), John (guitar) has a Strat and Gibson, and Mike (keys) hits Alesis and Roland synths.
If you like any of our songs off of "Triangles" and would like to know what the words are, check out SWIMDEEPER.COM for the lyrics. Just follow the "music" link at the top of the screen.
