SanSkrit is a band out of central Indiana with a female vocal, that tries to take Rock where the two band members always wished it would go.
SanSkrit became a virtual reality in the summer of 2003 when Carrie Eisman (Vocals) and David Cates (Guitar) decided the best way to go about business was to team up their collective ideas and efforts into a single endeavor. Through the last three years there have been drummers and bass players coming and going, and few and far between.
The duo is now currently focusing on the music, instead of the band lineup. As the two steady members of the band, they are currently recording a demo that they hope will help pique the interest of any serious, dedicated musicians in the area to make the full band a reality.
We are currently recording in a home studio without a full band. Every so often we get the chance to play small acoustic sets, but we try not to do it too often. The direction we are going with our music is far from singer/songwriter and an acoustic guitar.
The influences we believe that come through in our writing are where our personal tastes overlap. There are parts of songs that remind us both of Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, Alter Bridge, Dark New Day, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Evanescense, Ten Years, Breaking Benjamin, Fuel, Injected, Staind, Opeth, and others less popular.
Gibson Les Paul guitars, Fender amps, Morley and Boss pedals, Sennheiser Mic's, Ernie Ball strings, PeaVy PA's, Ovation Acoustics, Toshiba Satellite /w Sony AcidPro 5.0, and Alesis Multimix 12 Channel FireWire audio interface/recording console, Sennheiser Headphones, Sony Sound Forge (mastering/editing), and CD Architect.
NEW gear in the works: PRS Guitar, Airline Wireless System, Sennheiser Wireless Mics, and a variety of recording and live rackmount FX processors.
More coming soon.
