C.L. Ryderz Anybody who knows anything about rap knows about Thug Life. Dangerous, edgy and controversial. Thug Life has its critics and its practitioners. The CL Ryderz are set to flip the script on Thug Life with the release of Lifestyles Of The Flesh And Spirit, IN STORES NOW. C.L.Ryderz (Ted Nobody Brooks and Clinton Nine Up Hopkins) will be advancing their commitment to a whole New way of Life for Ryderz everywhere A fresh and timely concept known as Christ Life C.L.Ryderz Lifestyles Of The Flesh And Spirit is proof positive that riding for Christ can be just as dangerous, edgy and controversial as Thug Life but far more fulfilling. Lifestyles Of The Flesh And Spirit is a sensational 20 song beat fest of lyrical mastery on the temptations and pitfalls faced by the righteous. Most of the people who have problems with the way we express ourselves or perform our songs have never been to one of our shows and they respond based on hearsay and opinion, and not fact. The last time I checked, none of these people died on the cross for my sins. And when I gave myself to the Lord and He answered my prayers, I saw the light and now Im bringing people to the Lord. Says Nobody. It stands to reason that The Light is The Light. Even if its a blue light. The concept of this project was designed with the un-churched, non-believer in mind. This unapologetic, relentless assault on conventional Christian musical expectations takes the listener on a journey of spiritual awakening that starts in the carnal state of the flesh and ends at a spiritual crossroads where the listener is encouraged to take the right path. In this case, the right path is not scented with flowers and the comfort of quaint platitudes, but filled with the raw, smelly realities encountered on the come up from the gutter obstacles facing those most in need of salvation. This aint no Church rap, and its definitely not your ordinary Christian rap record, says Roosevelt Flo Sargent, CEO of Christsyde Records & Entertainment. The name of the group came from the groups founder, Ted Nobody Brooks. God gave me a vision of something that I call Christ Life. Before I got saved I was really into Tupac. I really believed in Thug Life to the point where I went down that path. Christ Life is a different path with a much better future. Nobody says. This project upholds the highest standard of quality that the mainstream industry has set forth and is highly competitive in that regard. Since making history back in January of 2004 as the first Christian rap group to perform on the nationally televised TV show Soul Train, this release has been highly anticipated and is a highly effective tool for evangelizing the world. Nobody grew up in Pamona, CA where his initial interest in music started with a natural love for R&B music. Luther Vandross, New Edition and After 7 were some of his favorites until his cousin turned him on to rap. Nobodys early rap influences were NWA and The DOC. After hearing NWA for the first time, from that point on, all Nobody listened to was rap. Rap was just more captivating to me than R&B was. I started getting into rap more and more. M.C. Eight from Comptons Most Wanted was one of my favorites and then there was Tupac Shakur. Tupac was my biggest influence and favorite artist, Nobody says. As his interest in hip-hop grew, Nobody started his first group in the early 90s. The first group he formed was a group of youngsters from his neighborhood in Pamona. The group didnt have a name but they began to get a reputation and generated enough buzz with their mix tapes. Thump Records obtained one of their demo tapes and approached Nobody about a Record deal. When nothing came of the overture from Thump, Nobody grew discouraged and stopped rapping, but he continued to write lyrics. After a 4 year stint in the Navy, Nobody found himself back on the streets. Adrift and mourning the death of his mother and worried about the welfare of his 2 young babies, he went off the deep end of despair and didnt care about anything or anybody as he slid into a thugs life of slanging and banging, (drug dealing and gang warring). From the depths of depression and alcohol abuse and a desire to precipitate his own death (suicide by cop) , he felt that he was at the end of the line. But as his Pastor had often told him. when you get to the end of yourself, you get to the beginning of God. I had to ask myself is this really the kind of life I want to live. I was going nowhere fast, I have 2 kids. I want to see my kids grow up, Nobody recalls. I remember the first time that I wanted anything that God had to offer was one day when I remember seeing a lot of people out on my girlfriends balcony crying, hugging, smiling and laughing as they fellowshipped with each other. Meanwhile, I was sitting inside watching them, laughing and drinking with her cousin. But what Im really thinking is if thats so fake and thats not the best choice for me why do they have something that I want? Nobody says. Nodoby surrendered himself to God that night. The year was 1998. A week later he was formally saved and for once in his life, he had peace. The people who were looking for him, the death threats, all went away. I was really saved and delivered when I moved to Moreno Valley, CA, where I met my partner Nine Up. Nine Up stands for the 9 fruits of the Spirit with the power to Unify People. From that point on I was constantly in the streets trying to get at people about the Lord. 6 months after I got saved I started rapping again, Nobody says. At that point the C.L.Ryderz was born and thus began the ministry of Christ Life. After several unsatisfying flirtations with record labels that didnt share the duos artistic vision, or either wanted to change it, The C.L.Ryderz signed with Christsyde Records & Entertainment. CSR Entertainment is making it happen like we want it to happen. We dont present our music in a watered down, churchy fashion. If Jesus was here today: you dont think He would be in the club, or kicking it on the block? Sure He would. We felt so strongly about this project, that after we recorded our first 12 songs, we scrapped them all and started all over again. And CSR Entertainment supported us all the way. Nobody says. Im living the Christ Life. Im your best example. I wasnt a child prodigy; I was just an average, middle class cat going to school when I started. Ive been through ups and downs and changes and turnarounds. But after I gave myself to the Lord and He answered my prayers, I knew somehow, someday that it would happen for me and my path would become straight and my way clear. I know that I can make a difference with the vision that God gave me. In spite of all the difficulties that Ive faced, I now have a burning desire to do His will and I believe that it will be done. Christ Life is the will and The C.L.Ryderz is the way, Nobody says
