originally started off with just a tape recorder and beating on a wooden stool in the back bedroom of their grandparents's house in Opelousas, LA. Then known as , they were just two kids having fun doin what they loved. Five years later and nothing's changed, except for their tape recorder has been replaced with a high quality home studio, the beating if wood has been replaced with bass filled beats from DJ-Rich and others, but most importantly, their rhymes are on a whole 'nother level.. They started out doin only screwed songs and long freestyles just like the Texas artists. However, as their knowledge of the game grew, their skills always did. of In House Recordins, and getting the club heads involved with that true Dirty South hype music. Then they got involved with another Baton Rouge artist, to catch those who really jam the lyrics in hip-hop. Then branching out to Opelousas area by collaborating on tracks with a well-known local artist, of Metamorphasis, they officially got their feet wet in the game.
Band/artist history
Real Name: Paul Pickens Nicknames: Fear Factor, T-Paul, T-Peezy Age: 16 Hometown: Opelousas, LA Current Home: Opelousas, LA School: Opelousas High School Class: '08 Favorite Artist(s): Nas, Common, Juelz Santana, Chamillionaire Favorite Quote: "Real recognize real my cut'n." Paul "P-Dizz" Pickens aka "Fear Factor" was born and raised in Opelousas, LA. Having two older brothers, Gregory aka Greg G. and Johnel, Paul was always surrounded by rap music. Greg G. was the first to introduce him to the popular screw music out of Houston in the late 90's. Listening to the likes of Lil' Flip, Chamillionaire, and Lil' Keke, Paul's freestyle skills was at an advanced level at an early age. He used these skills to record his first album at the age of 11 with his cousin, Jeremy. As a big fan of basketball and football, P-Dizz often refers to his knowledge of the games to develop mind-blowing punchlines in his rhymes. Besides rapping with his cousin, J-Rich, P-Dizz can also be heard collaborating with fellow Opelousas rapping sensations, Skyy Blue of Metamorphasis, Lil' Hustle of Mo Money Records and J-Rocka Just as his counterpart, J-Rich, P-Dizz is also an honor roll student. Throughout his high school he has maintained a 3.2 gpa. He also in the Upward Bound program at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. His most outstanding achievement academically is a 3rd Place finish in Introduction to Business at the Louisiana FBLA State Convention. He's a business man, and he handles his business...damn. P-Dizz doesn't plan on giving up the rap game for a long time. Like his cousin, he also plans to go to college majoring in Business Administration. He also plans to become an owner of his own record label, but he will always be a Slowmo' Representa.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes, it's a way to give back to the fans first hand. Everywhere we play is equally as fun because we feed off of the fans, but it always feels good to perform in front of our hometown.
