The music industry is laced with hundreds of singers, but entertainers are a one in a million. Mar-K finds himself in the company of few, as a true entertainer. Growing up in Cincinnati, Mar-K was impacted by the musical influence of his local Baptist church. Not aware of his own talent, he was drawn to dancing at the tender age of six. His natural calling was hard to ignore and he found himself deep in a lifestyle based on singing and dancing by the age of 17.
As one of seven siblings, Mar-K was a natural at making himself standout. He began to write his own music and groom himself for the dog-eat-dog world of the music industry. Taking advantage of every possible opportunity presented to him, he found himself in the company of Public Announcement by 2004. Public Announcement had been heavy on the scene in the late 90s, as they began to Vibe with R. Kelly and introduce women everywhere to young sensual satisfaction via music.
The group and Kelly went separate ways and in 2004 Mar-K stepped up as the newest member. Mar-Ks pretty boy aura was welcomed and the group went on to record an album in early 2006. As times get tough, things can fall apart and without much warning members went their separate ways.
With the taste of professional recordings and performances on his tongue, Mar-K honed in on his ability to stand alone as a solo artist. When youre 6 ft tall, deriving from American Indian and Puerto Rican decent and your physical armor is well sculpted and undeniably attractive, you have no choice but to standout. His natural charm and attraction quickly caught the attention of publications such as Ebony, Jet and King Magazine.
Mar-K went on to warm up the stage for such musical icons such as the OJays, Boyz II Men and Keith Sweat. It was his overall package that got him the attention and threw the doors with current manager David "JD" Fields of UEG Entertainment. Female fans hungry for the next delicious treat to hit the record store shelves had a sample of Mar-K during major events such as Summerfest, Bayfest and overseas in Germany. Refusing to believe his days as an international recording artist were over, fans patiently await his return. His sexual swagger is reminiscent of H-Town, Dru Hill and Jodeci. Mar-K definitely caters to the wants and needs of the female fan.
After dinning from the sweet tree of R&B, Mar-Ks hunger is apparent in his pursuit for eminence. Currently working on his untitled debut album, his campaign is to tell appealing and intensely sensual stories of love through music, bringing soul and sensuality back to the forefront of the industry.
