noise rock for you.Band/artist history
troi formed in late 1995 with employees 1 through 6 as founding members. in this line-up they recorded 'vs. piner high school' (the live performance at piner) and 'the demo' (both '95). employee 2 left in late '96, and was replaced by his brother, employee 7. employees 8 and 9 were then added (two drummers each with their own drum set). they played together for a bit, then troi was put on hiatus in 1997. it wasn't until 1999, with the return of the original employees 1 through 4, did troi live again. with the original line-up intact, they recorded the EP 'i saw the sun again today' ('99), the album 'theemployee handbook is followed like scripture' (2000), and the EP 'gone too far' (recorded '99, released 2003). the band is still together with the original first 4 employees, and they plan on recording again soon.Have you performed in front of an audience?all recordings are live with no overdubs.
we have played live in the past, in front of actual humans (and many non-humans).
Your musical influences
though we are a noise rock band, we are influenced by these (mostly not that noisy) bands and others influences: early sonic youth, pixies, nirvana, bauhaus, brian eno, the beatles, radiohead, devo, dead kennedys, sex pistols, faith no more, shitty guitars, shitty amps, effects pedals, "closet cases of the nerd kind", "transformers", "mst3k", car crashes, tv static, radio fuzz and screeches, bones snapping......What equipment do you use?
beat up guitars, falling apart amps, our trusty microphone, acoustic and electric stings, screwdrivers, synth, drumsticks, drums, cymbals, effects pedals, a big red bass guitar, other stuff.
