Duchess is a 24 year old bass player born and raised in the most famous small town in the world, Woodstock, NY. She took to bass naturally, learning mostly from her Father, after having learned to play the drums, and was playing gigs within the first year of owning a bass. While there in Woodstock, she established herself as one of the most well-known bassists in the area, gigging, recording and playing just about every style of music there is with several different bands over the span of her late teens/early twenties. She has played and toured with an all-female rock band that was previously signed to Capricorn records, Big Sister. She has played at festivals, at stadiums, and has played with countless famous musicians including Zac Alford (the drummer from the B52's and David Bowie), members of P-Funk and Bad Brains, opened up for Vernon Reid (Guitar Player for Living Colour), various national reggae acts, and many others. She is currently the touring bassist for Grammy nominee, Van Hunt, with whom she's opened for Mary J Blige, Anthony Hamilton, Heather Headley, The Brand New Heavies, and toured around the world and appeared on several television shows such as The Late Show With David Letterman, Late Night With Conan O'Brian, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Late Late Show With Craig Feruson and CD USA. She plays under the guise of Duchess Of Funk and is also working on an independant project focusing on her original compositions with drummer, Tyler Orion.

Are you kidding? It's what I live for!
I am heavily influenced by everyone in the P-Funk posse, as well as by bands like The Red Hot Chili Peppers and everything in between.
I use a custom made MusicMan Stingray 5 string bass with active picups through a 300w Trace Eliot amp head. I also have a Jackson 4 string bass. Tyler Orion plays DW drums.
