Workin' Down the Line Workin' Down the Line
Mostly autobiographical, a commuter's blues.
I'm mildy obsessive about real folk music: Hard-core country blues like that of Blind Blake, Pink Anderson, Rev. Gary Davis, Robert Johnson and Son House, old-timey mountain and gospel music (Doc Watson, Dock Boggs, the Carter Family), classic country (Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Willie Nelson), lowdown murder ballads, Irish drinking songs, political-topical folksongs and other styles of acoustic music that are rooted in tradtion. As opposed to most of the music you hear on the radio today, which is rooted in corporate greed and feebleminded pop culture ... but don't get me started. I am particularly nuts about the life and music of Woody Guthrie and the guitar playing of Mississippi John Hurt.Contact
