Have you performed in front of an audience?
, , , and . We're trying our best to get our name out there and build a fan base using both the strength of our live show and the internet. My favorite events to play are our annual which is held at my (Justin) father's house in Gerrardstown,WV. was very first live show ever and this year will be our first show back after last year's break-up! As for special moments... the most special moment so far, for me anyway, would have to be our 1st Runner-Up winning performance at in the battle-of-the-bands. Not because it gives us another chance to continue on in the Wild Card round... but because we got to play on the same stage ( in Sprinfield,VA) that I've seen so many of my idols perform on. People like Phil Anselmo, Jimmy Bower, Angela Gossow, Michael Amott, Hank Williams III, Exodus, Testament... the list goes on and on. That really was a fuckin amazing night!!!!! Playing The Cliffside Tavern was special too, but not in a good way. Our band played its second live show there and our first show with original singer, Aaron, who performed one song with us that night less than a week after joining
Your musical influences
to ! Pretty much anything with attitude & heaviness or just plain good musicianship. My (Justin) first exposure to rock n roll was my Mother playing to class and all of us flippin out over how badass the album cover was haha. But I was even more blown away once I heard it. So was definitely what/who attracted me to guitar. So, I've always loved rock and then soon after discovered metal. And then, like most kids at the time, I conned into believing I was 18 and sending me 12 CD's for a penny! I remember ordering ... just to name a few!!!!!
What equipment do you use?
that my Father bought me. He paid $500 for when I was a kid and it's still my main guitar today. It's a tobacco sunburst with zebra-stripe pickups and in addition to the usual bridge/tremolo pick-up selector, it also has another selector switch to toggle your pickups between single coil and humbucker. I guess its kind of a rare model cause the only other one Ive ever seen is in the video "Rock of Ages". I use . The yellow (.73mm) and green (.88mm) ones depending on the situation. I use ... usually 10's but sometimes my own hybrid mix of 11's on the low E,A (and sometimes D) strings and 10's on the high G, B, and E strings. Another guitar accessory I have is an . At the moment I have a low-end solidstate Marshall amp. It's the through a . Overall it's a great lil' amp, but the distortion is pathetic. I also have a vintage that I use sometimes too. And then for home practice I have a that we sometimes use as a monitor for Adam, our drummer, to hear my guitar. My main source of distortion is a . And I also have a . I've also got a . guitar. He uses ... I'm not sure what strings he uses. He uses an with a played through and . ... though I don't know what particular model or kit it is other than that. I can't remember what type of sticks he uses at the moment either haha. guitar and a half-stack. , powered by a . That all runs out to a for Adam to hear, and a for me, Josh & Stephen to hear. We also have an , which isn't in use at the moment. We also use a for recording ideas, demos, and rehearsals. It's one of the best purchases I ever made. No more forgotten ideas! It's really easy to use and awesome for all the things I mentioned above. I'd definitely recommend it to all guitar players and/or bands.
Anything else?
contest mentioned above! Getting our songs played on the radio would be great exposure and it would be nice to finally hear some fuckin metal on mainstream radio! And don't forget to check out our other websites where you can check out music, videos, and tons of pictures: Videos: Pictures:
