Warhog started in 2004. it began as a project group by Robert Smith and drummer Glen Koller. At the time neither the name or style of the group was set in concrete. From 2004 to 2006 the band went through a number of name changes, including 'black lake' and 'brooding heart', as well as many line up changes, with a number of bass players and guitarist coming and going.
At the start of 2006 it was decided to concentrate on building up a song base and putting some demos together, as having jam sessions with other musicians was not working out.
Warhogs' musical base is primarily derived from bands like Black Label Society, Pantera and Metallica. Although many bands and musicians have inspired us as is the case with any musician.
The aim of Warhog? who knows, I certainly don't. I just want to play some kick ass music and in the process make some peoples heads bang. I have no political agendas, or other deep and meaningful messages to convey to the world, because even if I did, who would listen... and futher more, wouldn't that in itself detract from the music.
Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this shite, and keep an ear out for us.
So far we do not play live, we are however recruiting anyone interested
influences include Black Label Society, Pantera, Metallica. to list them all would go on forever
