Patrick DeCoste incorporates a style that has many influences and inspirations. "Breaking The Silence" is the long awaited, much-anticipated single from this driven Guitarist/Songwriter. His style varies from straight Rock all the way to R&B and anything in between. Patricks ability to seek a market and fit himself in with diversity is the needed skill all musicians should possess if they intend to have a long-lasting music career and he continually strives for that goal. Musically, Patricks methodical way of creating music gives the listener a tasteful journey through sound and silence while maintaining creativity and interesting movement. At a time when it is commercially acceptable to compose songs consisting of minimal chord structure and when music is reaching its peak lyrically, Patrick once again sets his own standards by composing complex melodic statements, odd meters, and diverse music styles all without having to say a word. Also, his ability to free flow with existing material makes him an asset for collaborations. Overall, Patrick DeCoste is a musician dedicated to finding a niche for himself in the music world and "Breaking The Silence" is just the tip of the iceberg for this talented and diverse musician/songwriter. - Al "A3" Watkins III: Music Producer/Keyboardist/Engineer
Band/artist history
Patrick started playing at age 14. He began lessons at the local music store "Music First" with instructor Mike Previtt. A year later, he attended the Boston Conversatory of Music Summer Institute and studied under classical guitar virtuoso Joe Zucalla. Upon completion of the program, Patrick went on to study rock guitar with local guitarist Tony Savarino. From 1994- 1996, Patrick earned full-tuition scholarships to attend Berklee College of Music's Five Week Summer Program (he can be seen on the 1995 Summer Blowout Concert Promotional Video with the band "One" under the direction of Joe Stump - "considered by most as the most extreme shred guitarist in the world"). He also was a part of Berklee's SYSTEM FIVE Program during that time and studied with world reknown funk guitarist Tomo Fujita and was involved in several projects under the direction of Brian McKnight's musical director, Christopher Loftlin. While attending Berklee's Summer Guitar Sessions in 1994 & 1995, Patrick got the opportunity to study with Berklee's "most in-demand rock guitar teacher" Jon Finn and perform in the Berklee Performance Center with jazz instructor Jim Kelly in 1994. Since that time, Patrick has involved himself in numerous musical projects and currently teaches privately in and around Boston.
