Vegetarian Cannibals have been described as 'Mick Jones teaming up with the Who's rhythm section, (only Entwistle plays trombone instead of french horn),' and the description is not far from the truth. Founded in 2003 by Pierce 'The Beesh' Beigh (drums, vocals) and Alexander Benway (guitars, vocals), and joined in 2004 by Reece 'Russbeef' Beigh (bass, trombone), VC recently released their debut album 'For The Weekend' independently.
Vegetarian Cannibals were formed in 2003 by Alexander Benway (vocals and guitars) and Pierce 'The Beesh' Beigh (drums and vocals). They played a few shows and recorded some demos with this lineup, and finally realized they needed a bass player. The Beesh's brother Reece 'BEEF' Beigh fit the bill rather well, having just bought and mastered a bass guitar. BEEF also brought to the group his prodigious talent at the trombone, allowing Vegetarian Cannibals to branch out into ska. Since then, VC have been busy playing shows around their home town of Enumclaw, Washington, and recording and releasing their debut album, 'For The Weekend' in May 2006. VC plans to go back into the studio this August to start work on a follow-up album!
