FAQ
Why would I need a license?
A license is needed if you want to use the music for anything else than just listening for your pleasure. Typical uses are
  • freestyling over a beat
  • licensing music for use in TV or for a movie
  • remixing or use audio samples
What are the license options and what are the differences between those?
We offer up to 5 license templates (Basic, Premium, Track Out, Unlimited, Exclusive) and it's up to the artist which ones he/she wants to make available. Each license comes with different perks. In general, the higher the price, the better the perks.
You can click on each feature on the left side of the comparison chart above to learn more about each one.
When will I get the track I purchased?
You can download all related files immediately after your purchase. We also email you a one-time download link for a download later.
How can I remove the audio tag from the track?
A "tagged beat" is a demonstration version of an instrumental that contains distinct audio watermarks that typically play throughout the entire track. The purpose of a producer tagging his/her instrumental is to prevent piracy and to encourage serious recording artists to purchase a license.
To get a tag-free audio please make sure you purchase a license which features "untagged audio".
I purchased a $1 download, why is the beat still tagged?
Beats purchased for $1 in our store are meant for streaming and demo use only, just like downloads from iTunes store or Amazon music.
To license a beat without audio tag and to use in a professional manner please buy a license from this page. Usually those are $25 and up.
What is a stem / trackout file?
A Stem file is an audio file that contains a track split into several musical elements: A drums stem, a bassline stem, a harmony stem, and a lead stem for example.
The Stem file also usually includes the original stereo master of the track for standard playback.
Why would I need a stem / trackout file?
A trackout file gives you much better control. Imagine you rap over a beat and you realize the percussions take the focus away from your vocals. With a trackout file you can simply tone down the percussion and the focus is now on the vocals. With a trackout file you have much more flexibility and a whole different level of control.

Band/artist history
I left Newcastle in 1981 after studying at Newcastle College of Advanced Eduction graduating with a diploma in teaching and moved to Sydney for 8 years to work in various piano bars from Woollamoolloo to Kings Cross and inner Sydney . In 1984 met a large woman in a piano bar who used to sing a few songs with me and in early 1984 we formed a duo "Tony Leen and Dmama' and we appeared on Hey Hey it's Saturday and the Ray Martin Midday show .I was hoping for a moden day Laural and Hardy idea. I wrote a lot crazy songs for that act and a special favourite was"Your too fat for me" .We appeared on Hey Hey it's Saturday and the Ray Martin Midday Show Around the same time I formed an unlikely duo with a Dj who came on stage after me at a Coogee nightclub .He was Danish ,his name was Christian Starr and we formed a duo called" Somewhere Nowhere" from1984-1986 We were an experimental duo playing electronic music of the 80's . We released a couple of singles that got lots of airplay thru triple JJJ and some airplay on a National Spanish television Show . I recorded a lot of my music at trackdown studios including my first album "Rainy Nights" in 1987 on record LP A piano and string quartet sound. It was a pretty cool place Trackdown Studios .It was only a small couple of rooms under a keyboard shop in Bondi Junction and they had the latest gear .We hung out with the likes of Mental as Anything , James Floyde and The Models and Dragon .Christian and I (Somewhere Nowhere )were always at Hutchings Keyboards trying out the newest and latest technology. Around this time I was asked to be lead singer for a Gary Newman type synthesizer band called The Covers ,we toured NSW and Queensland .We had nine keyboards set up on stage. The person who put it all together was Ken Davis who now is a very well established ambient music writer ,the drummer Peter Radni went on to work with a band called" Cue Daa Ta" who went on to release 2 national singles. I released a single in 1988 recorded at Trackdown Studios called "Cairo" that reached No 16 on the Newcastle KO fm charts I wanted to explore my 1920's theatrical musical style for a long time I always liked that ragtime sound so I formed a band and we recorded some songs at trackdown studios in 1988.However just as we were about to do our first gig the bass player left . I performed in a couple of piano bars in Cairns for two months and soon after went to America and Canada peddling my songs to any radio station that would play them .I managed to get quite a lot of airplay for "Rainy Nights" and "Cairo" It was a great thrill for me recently when I was able to digitize all my old television VHS and Beta tapes...some, I hadn't seen for 30 years I put them onto my website ...its always great to be able to see where you've come from . I left Sydney in 1988 and was asked to open the newly renovated Lindeman Island Resort and I performed there for 2 months . Moved to the Gold Coast in 1988 and took on a more spiritual path where I was intrigued with our bodies life energy force and the god within...I moved into the country shared a house with a kiniesiologist and wrote 2 albums " Everything you Say" ...which was the transitional album before "Peace of the Pleiades"which was never released However,I did a filmclip for one of my favourite songs off "Peace of the Pleides" Turning Slowly, you can see it on You Tube . After 4 years on the Gold Coast I decided to move back to Newcastle 1992-1993 I wrote and produced a one man show called" Who' that I staged at Kings Theatre over several nights I played at the Brewery and won the Newcastle Star Music Awards in 1993 for my one man show and songwriting . I became engaged and married to my beautiful wife and started work at the Wog Rock Cafe as Carlos Hopontopofus Around 1995 I supported Glen Shorrock and Brian Cadd, and Richard Clapton on there tour ,and sang the National Anthem at Marathon Stadium. In 1997 I wrote and recorded the Princess Diana Tribute "Shine your Light"and supported Screaming Jets at Civic Park for the Newcastle Grandfinal. I stayed at the Wog Rock Cafe for 7 years developing a few different characters Carlos Hopontopofus ,Romeo Longagdongarelli and Tom Jonesalovesky .....The Wogrock was the best gig I ever had . I opened my own disasterous theatre restaurant in 2000 that was a nightmare ....where I almost lost everything Had a little baby boy in 2000 around this time of despair and joy I wrote the ballad " Beautiful Thing" . Also in 2000 I took Carlos Hopontopofus on the road around clubs and theatres and I now perform at weddings ,birthdays private and corporate functions . In 2006 recorded the album "A Girl Like That" which contained Beautiful thing that recieved lots of airplay on NURFM and the ABC network I'm currently doing shows and recording a new album ...another 1920 style with a few of my mates .Silly songs such as Dogpoop on my shoe and" Don with the shithouse voice" and I'll be doing some filmclips and touring this as a show in 2011 so look out for it "Anthony lee and the The Plastic Palm Quartet" It's going to be a different show again, a combination of original music and comedy and it might contain a few favourites like Carlos or whoever ! We performed on the ABC Night at the Wireless.at the Civic Theatre in 2010 I'm also writing film music for television series and movies and jingles for radio and television .
