After years of wandering in the desolate wasteland that begins with moving from musical group to musical group, Mike E. Blakk, who started years ago with the black metal outfit Civilized Evil, decided to take the matter into his own hands from his heart and formed the studio project being presented here at soundclick. This glorious achievement is in its infancy, so please be sure to check back frequently to hear more from Dead Right Machine.Band/artist history
The very first bands that I was involved with were with high school pals that had an interest like I did with music. We all liked the same bands and were aspiring to make a musical difference the way that they did.
From the out pourings of our hearts, I ended forming the first original band called Golden Dawn around 1986 with my childhood friend and drummer extraordinaire, John LaFleur, who went on to become a founding member with me in Nocturnal Season (more on that later).
Then in the late 1980's I found myself wandering down a backroad when I heard some music coming from an Industrial Garage. Little did I Know that I had happened upon an underground metal haven called Studio K located in the depths of downtown Troy NY.
Becuz of that chance encounter, I also ended up meeting some fellow musicians who invited me to hear their music. I did and I also played guitar for them.
Even though they were not really looking for another guitarist, they thought enough of my playing to ask me to join their band on the spot.
As I was doing nothing better than a cover band at the time, I readily agreed to play with them.
That band was called Civilized Evil and though the line-up did not last long enough to call the experience anything more than Dreaming, it was good enough to seed the desire to have that very Dream come true.
From that day forward I was determined to bring about the best songs that I could muster to have come thru me.
In what seems like countless bands I endured All that was given unto me.
The first band that I formed after Civilized Evil was called Nocturnal Season, which culminated with the release of a limited demo called Tis The Season, featuring the songs, Blinded By Confusion, Death Sentence, Jessica, Eyes Of Pain, Respect Life and Terminated.
The only mainstay throughout this band's history was myself and the songs.
From those ashes arose the metalcore fusion of Point Blank, which released In Your Face, a demo of epic proportions, especially considering that it was recorded live to two-track.
The most memorable shows that we performed in this band was opening for Life Of Agony on their River Runs Red tour, their best lp in my opinion and opening for Type-O Negative on their Bloody Kisses tour.
Great times that these were indeed and I would not trade them for any other experience that I can imagine. (now that Is saying quite alot!)
In spite of this or maybe becuz of it, the band called it a day.
After that ultimately dishearting episode, I took off some time to reflect on all that had occurred during my tenure so far as a musician.
Much to my dismay at times, the music kept on coming through, like a radio broadcast being heard in the Air, no receiver needed to pick up its transmissions.
While putting together some material, I received a phone call from a hot shot singer friend of mine looking to pull our resources together.
We agreed and from this constitution arose the progressive metal act Abner Doon whose self-titled release quickly became an underground favorite.
As luck would have it tragedy struck this band in many ways and after several attempts at reconcilliation, the band closed its doors forever.
During my time in Abner Doon, I also played bass guitar and sang lead vocals in a band called Ignus Factuus, which means apparition.
When the mighty Doon fell apart, I switched to guitar and gathered some new members to complete a new group, who became known as Strength In Numbers or S.I.N. as the fans called us.
Once again, even with a highly regarded and accepted self-titled release that was recorded as a lo-fi production live to four track with minimal overdubs for vocals and lead guitar.
Even with no effects or mastering, the reception from the fans was overwhelming and yet
the band could not seem to keep its differences from interferring with their performances.
So the demise of a band which went under no less than 4 times, only to rise again, was finally over, this time for good as I refused to entertain the entire relationship, or lack thereof, any further.
Needless to say, I'm sure, that after all this stuff I gave up 4 a while on being involved with bands.
I used the time instead to brush up my skillz on both guitar and computers. With the advent of the world wide web, I realized the great opportunity being afforded to all artists and concentrated my efforts on learning the ins and outs of technology.
Finally music called me back into the fray as I was invited to join the highly acclaimed modern rock band UpLift. I embraced the project like I always have with musical endeavors, whole-heartedly.
Right now I am still participating with this group and hope to tour the United States soon as long as everything continues to go well.
In the meantime, I am also concurrently involved with three other musical projects which will eventually be posted online here at soundclick.com.
Keep an eye out for the following monikers, Dark Score Symphony, Zora Starr's Moon Shadow and Leviathan Rule.
All the above-mentioned projects are by design, as is Dead Right Machine, an ever-evolving soundscapes featuring some of the best talent that finds its way into my life.Have you performed in front of an audience?I play live in a couple of other bands, Dark Score Symphony, Leviathan Rule and UpLift.
Handling guitar duties 4 UpLift and Vocals, Guitars, Keys and Programming 4 Dark Score Symphony, Bass Guitars and Lead Vocals 4 Leviathan Rule.
I am also looking for co-conspirators to bring Zora Starr's Moon Shadow to Life as I have quite a Vision that includes a stageplay production that goes along with the entire concept behind the Music, which shall remain Secret 4 the time being.
Your musical influences
My first musical influences came from my family members as my mom and two of my uncles played guitar and sang.
My uncle, Dennis Dozios, was a songwriter and founder of the early seventies rock band Glass Harbor, which garnered semi-professional success, more than enough to whet the Dreamer lurking inside of me.
From this point I grew to love lots of the bands from the mid to late seventies, along with the more experimental bands from the late sixties.
Theses include in no particular order, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Nektar, Tangerine Dream, King Crimson, Judas Priest, Yes, ELP, UK, Styx, Beatles, Grand Funk, Frank Zappa and others too numerous to remember nevermind list.
From these beginnings I quickly developed as a musician listening to Triumph, Iron Maiden and Yngwie Malmsteen. Other bands from the eighties include, Metallica, Powermad, Destruction, Carnivore, Cannibal Corpse, Abattior, Rigor Mortis, Megadeth, Anthrax, Venom, Celtic Frost, Mercyful Fate, King Diamond and other speed metal and progressive linkage from this era of decadence.
The more modern influences that I have found myself drawn to include, Nine Inch Nails, Tool, Godsmack, Fear Factory, Rage Against The Machine, Pantera, His Infernal Majesty, In Flames, Pain, Nevermore, 69 Eyes, Type-O Negative, Atrocity, Silke Bischoff, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, My Dying Bride, Arch Enemy, Nightwish, Meshuggah, Re-Creation, Marilyn Manson, Biohazard, Pro-Pain, Hatebreed, Vision Of Disorder, Canderia and many Others as they find their way into my Being.
The above mentioned list is by no means even in the least bit complete as I also enjoy most styles of music, including Classical, R&B, Motown, Funk, Hardcore, Hip-Hop & Rap, Techno, Rave, Dance, Ambient, Experimental, Jazz and Fusion
The eclecticism in my musical Being was influenced most by my GrandFather, Arthur Dozois. As a professional Musician's Union member for over thirty-five years, he taught my to see the Beauty that's in everything, especially in Music.
Through his eyes I learned that even the most primitive of musicians have something to offer.
I have found this to be true for me time and time again, especially when One can learn to cast aside the opinions of others and let the music flow through their Hearts.
I thank You, my dear GrandFather, who now Watches from Beyond the 3rd Realm of existence. What equipment do you use?

Here are the lyrics to the first upcoming Dead Right Machine songs
Design of Alchemy
Drifting thoughts envade the space of the living dead
Quieting the noise from within the very depth of being
Entrance of endless sensation flows constant thru the head
Driving forth a quest to become ever and always seeing
Apparent strangers fumbling for words to express
Struggle with the ego to balance and impress
Empty seems the place that lies in between
Acknowledgement of the ideals that remain unseen
Twisted thoughts transform into a straighter line
Weaving our way through the chaotic design
Swimming against the grain of conditioned ways
Tempering ourselves through creative endless days
Words that we spell leads us to enchantment
Feeding the sixth sense as it is reawakened
Pondering the mysteries of bewilderment
Feeling the foundation of society being shakened
Embrace the change, invoke desire
Transformation through inner fire
Holding, helping, getting along
Breathing, living transfiguring the wrong
Ancient ways call to the Natives of the tribe
The timeless travelers, though weary remain
In the records it has been set forth from the scribe
Falling into madness before insanity can truly become the sane
The Great Mystery
where does the time seem to slip away to
why do we seem to be so alone
farther and farther we appear to sink below
in order to celebrate the going back home
faster, driving
we come screeching to a halt
falling, all ways
until we let go of the fault
who's to blame You say and did not even ask why
no letting go as You lie there and cry
might as well die
so You can fly
upward and onward as there seems to be only now
the best never get better and then wonder how
let go of training
the ultimate draining
that has bound us since the beginning of this time (mystery)
nothing seems sacred unless You agree
emptiness an illusion that we all see
let go of conditions
lose superstitions
put away all that appears to be real crime (history)
all that was Lost shall indeed be found
mutating the square to complete the round
sequestered inward, homeward bound
energies unite and form the sound
Screams that call and whispers that beckon
all that will be evolves or so i reckon
glory to those who heed the call
to do thy will shall be the whole of the law
ancient glories misled stories
all for reason in due process
always mending, never sending
deemed the choice of progress
(silent whispers deep from within
allowing myself to remember again
forego the delusion; the mass illusion of shame
withered eyes like two thieves in the night
haunt us all and make off with our light
until we instead celebrate this life, this game)
it's a mystery, the great mystery
take it back, take it back from history (repeat until fade)

Welcome to this place and please enjoy Yourself while You are here. All music that's posted here is also available for download, so if You like, take it, keep it and pass it along. I believe that all so-called *intellectual properties* is more liken to a load of chit. The term was designed to keep profits in the hands of greedy corporations and has nothing to do with the Artists themselves. Most peeps who Create Art of any kind readily acknowledge that it does seem to be a Gift and as such, it makes better sense to give it away. Enjoy the day ; Embrace the Night ---Mike E. Blakk
