I write and record my own songs on my home computer. It is a great hobby. I love it!
Band/artist history
I've been writing songs for a few years. At age 59, I've finally become a rock star (in my own mind - at least)! In the past, I played lead guitar in a rock band with some of my co-workers. I played lead guitar in a band at the August 30 - September 3, 2007 Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp. Great fun.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes. At B. B. King's blues club in Manhattan in the Battle of the Bands at Rock N Roll Fantasy Camp. (More below)
Your musical influences
1960's bands. Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, etc. Also AC/DC, ZZ Top, The Eagles, The Ventures...
What equipment do you use?
Home built strat - The Farbocaster (with two Seymour Duncan J.B. Jrs. and a Duckbucker), new home built Carvin "Bolt" kit guitar with a humbucker and two single coils, Fender Strat (with three Seymour Duncan Hot Rails), Guild Nitebird, Coyote Tele, Gretsch Tenesee Rose, Gibson SG, PRS, etc... Amps: 1960's Ampeg Reverbrocket, Fender Blues Deville, Crate GX-40C, Epiphone Valve Special. For recording on the computer, I plug my guitar and mic into a Line 6 TonePort UX2. Anvil Studio is my recording software. Drums are done on an M-Audio Keystation 49e midi controller or by clicking drum beats on Anvil Studio. Microphone is basic Shure PG48.
