What Can I Do (On and On)

This is a new demo track I worked on with Avi Haim Avliav of Avli Music Productions, Inc. at his recording studio in Woodland Hills, CA. We met at the 2015 ASCAP I Create Music EXPO at the Loew's Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. I'm happy with how

Fare Thee Well (Traditional) Live

I performed this song live in the Music room at Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis, MA, at Open Mic Night on Friday 5/22/2009. There is distortion every time I sing that high note, not due to my mouth being too close to the mic, but rather due

Parmesan, Nigga (feat. Derek Piotr and Brian Hayes

Derek wanted to rap for some reason, and I wanted to make it a very energetic production behind him. It is a ridiculous techno rap bonanza. Brian Hayes also provided vocals on this track. This song was originally uploaded to my SoundClick music page

Hungarian (feat. Amber Scanlan)

This song is another segment featuring rapping with my late friend Amber Scanlan. It features Amber rapping her very decidedly 'not having it' and not politically correct lyrics, over a suspenseful, harsh and jarring electronic instrumental backgroun

Picture for song 'Female P.R.P. Harmonic Minor' by artist 'Reuben Walton'

Female P.R.P. Harmonic Minor

This song features a MIDI electric guitar playing in the harmonic minor scale. I've always loved harmonic minor. It's one of my favorite musical modes. So I played it on a MIDI keyboard and added my own MIDI drum beat to it. I called it Female P.R.P.

Reuben Walton is an artist and songwriter originally from Cape Cod, MA and currently based in Woods Hole, MA. His work spans multiple genres with a pop-centric focus. A graduate of UMass Lowell and Sturgis Charter Public School, Walton's involvement in music has been a longterm passion with a steady shift towards original material beginning in high school. From his beginnings with choral ensembles, avant garde lo-fi dadaist compositions and earnest cover songs, to his free-flowing explorations of hip hop, atmospheric R&B and plaintive pop melodies, Walton brings a unique perspective that is both vulnerable and playful, his vocals and ear for melody and rhythm forming much of the common element unifying his body of work. His modest career highlights have included performances at UMass Lowell's annual Mothers of Rock concert and various venues in Southeastern Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area. Currently he is in the process of assembling a short EP with producer AVLI Music of Avli Music Productions in Woodland Hills, CA, in addition to working on a variety of side projects and collaborations.
Band/artist history
A graduate of UMass Lowell and Sturgis Charter Public School, my involvement in music has been a longterm passion with a steady shift towards original material beginning in high school. I started working on music outside of school maybe in like 1999, on and off, gradually increasing in seriousness and commitment. I was not a child prodigy. I would make up fledgling little compositions on the piano in my childhood living room, and on my father's and later my own synthesizers. In 2004 I started learning to play chords on the acoustic guitar, simply born from thinking it would be cool to be able to play various songs I liked on the guitar. It was not about virtuosity. In 2005, I began composing music using GarageBand software on Mac computers. On 2/13/2006 I joined SoundClick.com and began uploading music to my profile there. I participated in Berklee College of Music's Five-Week Summer Performance Program during the summer of 2007 in Boston, MA, and their Music for Video Games Workshop and Guitar Sessions program in the summer of 2008. I performed at various open mic nights. I expanded to the online platforms of SoundCloud in 2009 and Bandcamp in 2010. It was a great dream of mine to attend Berklee College of Music for my undergraduate career, but I didn't pass the audition and instead attended UMass Lowell where I ultimately majored in Music Business, graduating Cum Laude in May 2014. I joined ASCAP as my PRO (performance-rights organization) in 2015 after attending their annual ASCAP I Create Music EXPO in Los Angeles for the first time. That year I also met music producer AVLI Music of Woodland Hills, CA there and began working on an EP. In 2016 I registered with CDBaby for digital distribution and began to get my music on iTunes. The years have sharpened and refined my focus. Through the wonder of the internet I have been able to connect with many other likeminded collaborators and creatives.
