Danny’s music is loved by everyone. His style is more southern gospel and he certainly knows how to sing that pure, southern gospel style! Danny regales folks with one old familiar standard after another songs like, “The Old Gospel Ship” and “First Day In Heaven” and then he gives a twist by introducing original compositions that range from his normal styling to contemporary settings.
Audiences everywhere love Danny from the moment they lay eyes on him he’s just one of those kinds of people! His endearing personality combined with his zeal and passion for the gospel makes his music and concerts a memorable time of fellowship in the gospel.
Hailing from the Trinity area of Florida, Danny Riddle grew up with a desire to be involved in music ministry and began that journey at age 11. After a bad experience at age 15, Danny prayed, “God, if you will give me a voice, I will sing for you the rest of my life.” God answered that prayer and ministry doors began opening.
He recorded his first single just before his 16th birthday. That recording received major airplay around the state of Florida. Following a guest appearance on a radio program, he was offered the opportunity to host a Gospel Music show and accepted the challenge. The show was called “Reach Out” and was on the air for more than 11 years and was syndicated to seven different radio stations.
In his late twenties Danny completely left the Christian Music industry until 2000 when a friend talked him into re-releasing several of his old recordings onto CD. After another period of much prayer and soul searching, God again began to work in Danny’s life and through his testimony. Later that year he released, “Old Time Religion”, a collection of many old-time hymns that Danny had always dreamed of recording along with the re-releases of his older albums.
Since then Danny has released a second CD (In A Different Light) and his third CD (You Raise Me Up) was released in the summer of 2004.
“I am excited and thankful every day about all of the new adventures God is bringing into my life,” Danny says. When all is said and done, he wants to be remembered as “the boy who sang his songs for Jesus Christ.”
We do play live at various churches, social gatherings, Coffee Houses, and civic clubs.
My greatest musical influences would be my Late Great Uncle Rex Nelon, Liz Humbard, and Ricky Riddle (Rio Grande Records).
