Band/artist history
Ghetto Bird (Born Gary Allen Black) was born in Sacramento, CA and lived there until he was of school age, at which time he, his older brother Leon, and his parents relocated near Wien, Germany. There, Ghetto attended preschool, picking up the German and English lanquages simultaneously. When he was about 6, Ghetto's family returned to the United States and back to Sacramento. In 1993 Ghetto's father (Damon Black), a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the US Air Force was stationed in a place known only to Ghetto through one Bugs Bunny's misadventures: "Eehh,.. I should have made a left at ALBAKOYKEE". Ghetto was raised between Southeast Albuquerque's War Zone, Sticks, and Kirt areas. Thanks to Leon and several other influences, by age 15, Ghetto had already discovered the power of spoken word through Hip Hop and shortly after linked up with another young local emcee The two began experimenting with making beats and rhymes in a makeshift studio set up in Ink Weary's home. Since then, Ghetto has gotten a few tracks and exactly one show (with The Movement) under his belt while not working on any specific projects. He is ready, now, to take his love for words and beats to the next level, just recently joining with production group to make beats as well as drop lyrics.
