Everything here is live, unrehearsed, fun stuff that me and friends of mine came up with. I only did this to give people a sense of what I'm into (although this stuff leaves horrible first impressions) and what my friends are about. It's more nostalgic for me than professional. Just a whole bunch of fun times with friends in a somewhat musical boundary. :)
I've been playing guitar since early 2000. I'm into all kinds of music. A good friend of mine in Riyadh would jam with me a lot and we'd come up with some interesting stuff. My brother would usually come along and record stuff with his percussion talents on his cheap drum synthesizing board (a 6x4 plastic box that has buttons on it that make different drum sounds :) ). We recorded stuff that now means something to us, fun times, teenage years and just horseplay-like, 'boys will be boys' fun. Just a lot of good times with a friend and a brother - that's my band.
Yeah, all these songs are live. I don't really play anything, anywhere, but all the songs on this are live. I love playing live, it's scary and competitive and you have to stay on your feet. All these songs are special moments for me. They all remind me of some fun time or another.
We're into having fun. Period. We jam to get a kick out of it, and most of the time it turns out to sound like crap. But we're ok with it, because it was a good idea and we had fun with it. A lot of stuff we did here is some decent ideas, we just never had the time to develop it.
Most of the tracks here are guitar based. All we have is an acoustic guitar, an electric Yamaha and a percussion sequencer.
Just an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar and a drum sequencer. All the recording is done on Windows Sound Recorder and converted to mp3 format via Xilisoft Audio Converter.
Die-hard critics would say that we suck. And we do. Technically, and sound-recording wise, this is probably some of the worst stuff that a true musician will ever come across. It is always off tempo, none of us are ever in good rhythm and the sound is-ugh, horrible. However, the idea is there. The fact of the matter is, I live in Sacramento. Hatim and Moeed live in Riyadh. We get together for one night, once a year, and we've done this for 3 years now. On that one night, we catch up on old stuff, show off what we've learnt and jam. The result of those jams is some cliche ideas that we were just having fun with. We record it to look back and laugh whenever we want to, and basically feel 'professional'. So please, don't be so hard. We're just some kids having fun. :)
